  1. Is it time to trade Grissom now that he's heating up in the minors? I like Hamilton for his speed as much as anyone else here, but is it enough? Essentially we carry 3 bench players. We need Romy because of Casas. Plus he can play other positions. I see Mayer as a backup for Story getting hurt or next year at 3B if Bregman opts out. Then you have Refsnyder. Unless there's another option at 1B Romy stays. Refsnyder is hitting too well. I can't ever see us parting ways with him. That leaves Hamilton who still has 1 option remaining. Is Grissom better than Hamilton right now?
  2. I didn't realize Bernardino had picked up a change up that he throws exclusively to right handed batters. It's good to see guys working on a new pitch instead of complaining about demotion.
  3. I can usually get a response out of Moon.....lol
  4. Moon, Kelly just got sent down. How would you rank our bullpen arms? This is in order of WHIP (I actually like this and Batting Avg given up) (options remaining) Slaten (3) Bernardino-L (1) Whitlock (3) Winckowski (1) Chapman-L Weissert (1) Wilson-L (0) Hendriks Looks pretty solid.
  5. Zack Kelly sent down, just as I predicted. Pretty predictable. The 30-year-old allowed 10 runs, 12 hits and two walks while striking out 11 in 10 innings (seven outings). Ugh
  6. I'm just trying to entertain you with our 'magic' number.
  7. Pitching I'm assuming Kelly gets sent down when Bello is activated. Crochet, Buehler, Houck, Bello, Newcomb.............Fitts, Dobbins on the wings. Do we move Fitts to the bullpen when Giolitto and Crawford return? Or do we stretch him out and keep in AAA? I really like Fitts. He could be very valuable in the pen as opposed to AAA.
  8. He'll be similar to Duran, who accrued 155 days his 'rookie' year. Anthony will have 4 years of arbitration starting 2028-2031 if he's called up now.
  9. I think someone has to go down today. It should be an easy choice, Kelly. He has struggled all of April. Whitlock has been off 2 days and has only pitched once in last 5 days. He should be ready to pitch 2 innings today. Same goes for Weissert. We need at least 5 from Bello.
  10. Another site has following probable starting pitchers for this series. Tuesday Bryce Miller .343 ERA vs Bello Wednesday Emerson Hancock 12.71 ERA vs Newcomb 3.63 ERA Thursday Bryan Woo 3.12 vs Crochet 1.13 ERA
  11. Both teams are two games above .500. Tied for 5th playoff spot. We've leap-frogged the Blue Jays. We need 2 out of 3.
  12. When it comes to Boston Red Sox, there is no such thing as "easy schedule". It's a myth. Hell we can't even play .500 ball at home. It's a bottom line game. We are in the playoffs if the season ended today. We should be getting better as new comers become acclimated to Fenway and others come off the injured li
  13. It's good to have more than one option. We need for Hendriks to ramp it up quickly.
  14. If Casas can't hit in April, he might as get left behind down South. We're wasting his bat. We don't need his ceiling right now. We just need someone to come in and hit .700 ops. That should not be very difficult at 1B. HE IS RANKED 25 OUT OF 25 1B THAT QUALIFIES IN MLB.
  15. We would have been the fourth seed with a win Sunday vs lowly White Sox, ugh.
  16. Technically we have 9 starters. This has to be our deepest group. (assuming they can all get healthy at the same time) 1 Crochet 2 Houck 3 Bello 4 Buehler 5 Newcomb 6 Fitts (IL) 7 Giolito (IL) 8 Fitts (IL) 9 Kutter (IL)
  17. Need to take 2 out of 3. Wing the series baby.
  18. Who gets demoted tomorrow? Bello is starting. Newcomb is pitching Wednesday night so he stays. It just sucks the Fitts had to get hurt.
  19. As it turns out, signing Betts would have benefitted the Sox MORE than signing/extending Xander, Devers, Yoshida and Story. I would have preferred building the team around Betts. That's why it was critical to extend Crochet. I also believe Bello will get to #2/#3 type. Rafaela is very affordable even if we miss, we have enough young pieces to cover for him we made a mistake.
  20. In April, Justin Slaten has pitched 7 times, 7 innings and given up one hit, no walks. Looks like our closer to me.
  21. 7 innings, 100 pitches, 1 run given up....good game by Buehler
  22. That's 3 straight decent outing by Walker Buehler after 2 shaky starts. As long as he can give us 90 pitches per start, I'm good with him.
  23. Stay healthy.......anything positive offensively is a plus.
