    It's games like these where we seem to beat expectations Pedro says we need to improve our defense before anything else. Well our 1B D sucks. We need a longer term solution at 1B. That needs to be fixed before we do anything else. July trade deadlines are too far off.

    Slaten, 15 pitches, 12 strikes, 3 K's Whitlock, 32 pitches, 18 strikes, 3 K's but 1 BB and 1 HBP Just throw damn strikes Whit.... He has blown 4 save opportunities out of his last 5 appearances.

    Whitlock and Houck are best friends. Keep them together. Send them down. Everyone thought Whitlock would be a star in relief. All he had to do was not start. Well he sucks. He's very hittable. Period.

    I actually have Giolito ahead of Bello. I get it that Giolito got lit up in his 2nd outing. But he throws strikes. He made an adjustment between his second and third starts. Despite being lit up, Giolito's WHIP is lower than Bello's. 67% vs 45% strike ratio. I trust Giolito little more than Bello.

    So Giolito was able to come up with a new pitch in 4 days in between starts but Houck can't figure out what the hell the problem is in 9 starts? He better skip a turn or something. Doing the same thing over and over when it's not working is not the solution.

    8-46 for Duran in May.

    Toro, now 2-15....come on guys. Do something. we now have slumping Duran, Story, Wong, Toro, Campbell......ugly. All in the starting lineup. Wong is 6-38 this year, all singles.

    Something positive? We did not extend Casas and Houck. Houck maybe a trade candidate someone in need of a healthy body in July.

    Jobe has 2 decent outings out of 6.....it's been a race to the bottom for Jobe and Houck. He was rocked for 8 hits, 6 runs in 3 2/3 innings vs Colorado in his last outing.

    Tigers have moved up two spots in MLB power ranking, going from #5 to #3, despite losing their last two. But they are 7-3 in their last 10 games. Their team ERA is right behind the Royals (#1) in AL. Our ERA in May is outstanding, 2.47 compared to Tigers' 3.60.

    I wish Cora would have them bunt to advance the baserunner. Do something constructive. Connor is 6-38, all singles. Ugh.

    My top 4 would be Crochet, Giolito, Bello and Dobbins. Houck maybe jettisoned to the pen when injured starting pitchers return.

    It would be nice to get 2 out of 3 and get out of town. Go 1-2 or 0-3 and we're back to mediocrity. Houck needs to right himself.

    Hey Moon I asked if we should build our rotation around our 4 youngest starting pitchers? Youngest to oldest. They will all be 26 on 12/31/25. R Fitts, H Dobbins, G Crochet, B Bello. The next youngest believe it or not is P Sandoval. Then Houck and Crawford. Tolle and Early, both lefties look to be ready by 2027 if not sooner. They are 22 and 23 and ranked #8 and #9 in Soxprospects, just ahead of Fitts. Thoughts?

    Campbell would be my starting 2B. It's about getting Mayer enough bats. I think he is better option than Hamilton. Realistically, what more can AAA teach Mayer? So what if he gets 'hot' in AAA? It's time to improve the major league team. Mayer will be under team control for 6 years starting in 2026. Why not use him right now to improve our team? He can give much needed rest for Story. Story needs a mental break.

    nope....give him enough at 3 infield positions. At some point both story and bregman will need some rest. We can move Campbell to OF from time to time.

    Bres should do what Devers suggested. Go outside of the organization and get a 1B.

    Hamilton's speed is not an asset if you don't play him. He's not hitting and his defense was always 50/50.

    How much is Hamilton really worth during the regular season. I can see his speed being an asset during the playoffs but now? Not getting enough at bats and his fielding is still shaky. He still has an option. Tuck him away in AAA. Bring up Mayer and let him play 2B. It's time.
