  1. Sorry....I forgot to give credit to Sox Prospects site.
  2. We certainly have options. It may not be a bad idea to give everyone one extra day off......not sure if that would backfire. Pitchers are creature of habits.
  3. Hiring Brian Bannister was a good move. Showing Buch that his pitching slot has dropped significantly over the years is another example of good work he's done. Film does not lie.
  4. the reports on his defense have been positive since he moved to the hot corner on August 12. (in previous articles, he has said that he grew up playing 3B and CF)
  5. Player of the Night: Yoan Moncada was on base five times and hit his 10th home run with the Sea Dogs. While the Red Sox could wait until September 1 to call up Moncada to avoid having to make any difficult roster decisions, he likely represents an upgrade over Travis Shaw, who entered the day batting .207 with a .643 OPS in 232 at-bats since May 22. Moncada could platoon with Aaron Hill to limit his at-bats against left-handers, and the reports on his defense have been positive since he moved to the hot corner on August 12. Is it time to upgrade 3B? What are we afraid of? Benintendi experiment worked out. If you can make the team better, then you do it. Don't give me why fix something when it's working crap. Many here said the same thing with Benintendi. What drives this team is the enthusiasm of younger players. And they are good.

  7. It's discouraging to know that even last night's game would have been in jeopardy had we not scored additional runs.....our bullpen is so capable of giving up home run balls....ugh Why is it that our flame throwers throw straight fast ball with no movement? (Barnes, Kelly)
  8. John Farrell was begging for right handed bench guy that can play infield....DD took care of it....who knew Hill would struggle?
  9. I'm just the big moron here...... Betts is a must get. Give him what he wants. I want Bradley more than Xander but losing Bradley maybe an easier fill. IF, and that'a a big if, then Benintendi can move over to CF. C Sandy 1B Hanley 2B Pedy SS Xander 3B Moncada LF Benintendi CF Bradley RF Betts DH Encarnacion......Young (1 yr), Swihart, Vasquez, Shaw and Holt on the bench How about that line up *******s....
  10. Pablo and Hanley's contracts will be expiring. That should help. I'm high on Bradley but OF position maybe the easiest to replace. I'm not convinced Moncada can play infield at major league level. He maybe a left fielder and move Benintendi to CF. Betts is a must get. I would still sign Bradley before Xander. I think there are plenty of defensive shortstops in our system. I just like Bradley's athleticism. But I'm playing with monopoly money and I think we should sign them all. Maybe Price will opt out of his contract and be replaceable with a young, cheap arm...Kopech?
  11. I was surprised when Johnson took a step back for anxiety issues. Was he the one involved in car jacking? Obviously getting Wright and E Rod will do wonders for the playoff run. Price is now on a roll. Porcello has pitched like an ace all year. Pomeranz now must be the pitcher that we traded for and not the imposter that pitched first four games. Our bullpen however is in shambles. Luckily we scored 6 runs. Our bullpen gives up runs faster than rabbits reproducing.
  12. Lucky that ump had dinner waiting for him back home..
  13. I hate Barnes....another big pussy in our bullpen full of pussies
  14. Should we bring up Benintendi? Waste one of his options and bring him closer to FA?
  15. Sandy Leon is the best catcher....is anyone better? name him...
  16. I don't see the toughness in Xander that I see from Betts and Bradley.......Xander shows his frustration. 3 B's (Bradley, Betts and Benintendi do not)
  17. Xander needs to be moved off the #2 spot. Batting .200 in August....he's killing us.
  18. Joe Kelly doesn't have the stuff....throwing fastball STRAIGHT at 98 mph means nothing to the hitters. Their exit speed is faster, that's all.
  19. What was the thinking behind Sox signing Young in the first place? Did they look at number of lefties in AL East and other Divisions? We quickly forget that Bradley Jr started the year batting 9th. I'm quite sure Young was also a back up plan for relieving Bradley vs left handed pitching. Slide Mookie to center field and Hot to right. Now that Bradley Jr is established in CF, there are fewer at bats available for Young. He was not only a platoon candidate in LF (limited at bats) but insurance against Bradley in case of prolong slump. We didn't have similar backup plan for Shaw at the start of the season.
  20. Owens looking studly
  21. Porcello....just doesn't walk a guy I enjoy watching his games Price....can be very deliberate with guys on base.....he pitches deep into games Wright....losing control for just one inning can unravel him Pomeranz...he follows up his longest outing by his most efficient outing, albeit short due to the rain....This is the guy not long ago said that as long as his walked batters didn't score, he didn't care...UGH..20-30 pitch count innings Clay....good Clay is back, throwing strikes... Owens...his troubles are all self inflicted.....throw strikes young man...
  22. So Shaw is already complaining about his playing time? Basically he's saying Aaron Hill sucks? Not smart for a young guy to air complaints in the papers.
  23. Taz can take a rest on the bench for remainder of the year....get back to me when he pitches well in a meaningful game.
  24. Hey Moon..where do you see Bobby Dalbec playing? He's 6-4 with a gun, 3B....plenty of power. Pitched for Arizona. I see him moving through the system quickly.
