    If wins is a category, then pitchers on the back end of good teams, like, say, Tony Gonsolin might be more valuable than an ace on a tanking team like Frankie Montas. And with no HR category, I went a lot heavier on leadoff and #2 hitters thinking it would be better for OBP, R, TB and SB. I liked high OBP guys like Brandon Nimmo and Kyle Schwarber who are not as valuable in BA leagues…

    I’m not so sure why paying a player who might end up solely as a DH is some sort of detrimental thing. If you get 8 more years of elite offense and even sun-par defense, west the big deal? And DH is a legitimate position. Not a dumping ground for one dimensional players and not a place to “rest” regular players. It’s a chance to enhance your offensive output. An expensive DH is not necessarily a bad thing. Pay Devers. Enjoy the ride. If he eventually settled in to a DH role, enjoy having an elite DH. Again…

    And a pitcher can go 5 IP and give 5 (or more) ER and get a win because his offense bailed him out. Meanwhile another guy can go 8 IP 1 ER (or less) and not get a win because his offense or his bullpen or both didn’t help. At least the QS takes the offense and the bullpen out of the equation and makes it more about your pitcher…

    Not true. Oddsmakers also have to take into account the amount of money bet. The Cubs, for example, used to get odds better than usual because they received a significant and disproportional amount of the bets relative to their talent. The Yankees often see the same. And this makes sense. The only purpose of odds is to increase wagering on underdogs. If people are already willingly betting on them, why increase the payouts?
