I don’t think the offense is as problematic as recent frustrations indicate. The Sox are second is the AL in Runs Scored, which is actually remarkable when you consider that all throughout April and early May, this offense simply could not put anything on the board. They didn’t even have a game where they scored double digit runs until May 16, and went stretches of scoring 3 or less for several games in a row. Any lack of excitement they have is far from rare in the league this year.
And don’t deal Verdugo. When the shift is banned next year, he is poised for a massive improvement. I stand by that…
