  1. He barbecued a nun and served her to orphans…
  2. But that song made you run out and get one!
  3. No according to most Sox fans from 2005 through 2011 that saw a rotating SS carousel. Some folks compared it on the disaster level to Mount Vesuvius…
  4. Some of that could be attributed to Cora’s love for platooning…
  5. Meanwhile Dodger fans are calling Andrew Friedman cheap for passing on Bo Bichette for 2b and settling for some combination of Tommy Edman, Hyesong Kim and Miguel Rojas…
  6. Isn’t he the Yankees utility infielder?
  7. Can you blame them? He was so good in Training Day
  8. I think the Athletics might not mind Bello and Rafaela, but I’m not sure what you bring to the party. Plus we’d miss you. Weird timing since Boston finally got that DH you wanted…
  9. His brother Ted, actually. So close but no points awarded…
  10. Rooker’s OPS the last 3 years was .853, which is certainly impressive. However, before last year’s disaster, Casas had a career OPS of .830. If healthy, Casas might be the DH you want..
  11. I think so. It’s not like Bo Bichette was going to sign here to play backup SS/3b…
  12. And only give up maybe 130 or so runs. A sparkling ERA of about 585.00…
  13. Bello for Shaw - who says no? (Hint: his names rhymes with Jed Hoyer)
  14. Bello has always been my top choice to trade. The Sox have 7 starters with MLB experience vying for 5 opening day slots, and should again have Houck at some point next year. Bello is an attractive trade piece that l’d swap for numerous 2b or 3b options straight up. I look at IKF as Mayer Insurance. The big gripe about Mayer is he gets hurt every year. So Breslow went out and got a Gold Glove third baseman. Is that really a problem?
  15. If it comes down to the Cubs, BTV gives fair trades as 1. Witherspoon for Hoerner 2. Tolle for Shaw Of those two, and both are tough calls, I do Tolle for Shaw. Shaw has much more control and much more power. Both are excellent defensive players. Witherspoon might have the higher ceiling, but he’s also much further away. But with the Sox current pitching depth, I’m in no rush on Witherspoon..
  16. MLB drafting based on position is stupid. Do you really know what you’re going to need 2-4 years down the road?
  17. For 3b, Alec Bohm? Next year’s free agent class is far from dazzling…
  18. Shaw had a horrible first half but his second half was extremely impressive. The Cubs can afford to move Shaw because they have BA Top 100 prospect James Triantos right behind him, so they’re covered even with Nico on just one year…
  19. Doesn’t that apply to every player?
  20. You lost a lot of credibility when you called Suarez the Sox #5 pitcher. Especially behind the 4 you listed. Crawford and Tolle? It’s possible IKF is an insurance policy and the Sox are waiting until ST injuries ser in to see what is next available for Duran or Bello or whoever…
  21. The Netherlands team does get some impressive islanders, like Bogaerts, Acuna, Profar, Andrelton Simmons, etc…
  22. Well, they do have 23 pitchers and catchers on the 40 man roster. 24 if you count Gasper, who likely hasn’t reported yet…
