As unlikable as they are, those front office employees do know more about this stuff than we do. Anyone who says otherwise has unresolved ego issues. That said, the issue isn’t knowing the problem. If the issues with this team are so patently obvious even rank amateurs such as us can spot them, the FO is aware. This is not the problem. The problem is it doesn’t guarantee they act on it. And it certainly doesn’t guarantee they act to a level that appeases the fans…

Every MLB team uses Driveline. Every one. The Sox are one of the more reliant teams on Driveline, but so are the Yankees and Dodgers. The solution isn’t as simple as stop using Driveline…

You’re right. We should ignore games when the Sox score runs. The entire focus should be their average and keeping it low…

Weird. Hes the deepest analytics guy on here…

If they’re not going to hit, they do need r to be aggressive on the bases. But that does mean running into more outs…

Contreras is in his mid 30s. Rafaela is having a back issue…

Agreed. Why is it every time something doesn’t show immediate results, the first thing multiple fans want to do is “tear it all down!! Trade everyone and start over!!”? Do people think this brings immediate success? Actual rebuilds take multiple (re: several) seasons and rarely work. How on Earth did this become the panacea for a team with pretty identifiable and limited flaws? If things still look this bleak in July, deal Chapman (Hes not likely to exercise his half of the mutual option). The only other real candidates should be IKF, Coulombe and maybe Gray.

Not sure Guerrero can be demoted. I think - and Ive been wrong on this subject multiple times before - Guerrero eould need to be DFAd, clear waivers and then be optioned…

Walking a ton of hitters rarely translates into long, scoreless innings streaks in MLB like it clearly can in AAA. But the Sox really do need bullpen help, and Kahnle has a long track record of success. (So long his age is becoming a factor.) Id add and promote him. Gamboa can be DFAd and optioned, and if he gets claimed he’s about as far from an irreplaceable talent as the Sox have on their 40 man. And then send Samaniego down to Worcester to open a spot in the bullpen. And Craig? While you have Worcester on the phone, call up Bennett and demote Weissert. And just keep Bello in the pen as a normal reliever…

Oh god. You’re getting data from a Floridian!?!?

As much as this team needs bullpen help, questions should be asked about Kahnle and his 11 BB in 14.1 IP in Worcester…

He has also been dealing with some physical issues, so we might not have seen him anyway…

Chase Meidroth - OPS+ of 90 Kristian Campbell - OPS+ of 89 Once again, the monster is always greener, I guess…

I was shocked they held him. This coaching staff is playing for big hits that their lineup won’t produce…

So apparently injecting reality is “defending Henry”?

Breslow and Tracy need to. They can’t keep playing station-to-station baseball. If you’re going to try to be the Rays, which has been the goal for like 6 years now, you can’t stop at payroll; you need to play the game like them, too. Right now the Sox have a small market lineup that’s trying to play a big market game…

I miss Devers, but he should have handled things like an adult. Cora hasn’t been anything special in years. Breslow is just another part of a mess of the front office…

SS since IKF took over is looking good, too, with his .937 OPS over his last 9 games. I told you people he’s a good player…

Imagine the joy in Boston when Henry finally agrees to sell and the new owner is revealed to be a partnership between Tony Ressler and Tom Dundon. For those unaware, they two of the cheapest NBA owners that don’t just pinch pennies; they squeeze them so tight Lincoln’s head starts bleeding….
