    Ok, apparently he is a good SS. I just bowed out from committing to anything on his 200 inning sample size in MLB. Hes a really good player if you get the 6 fWAR Garcia from 2025. But I’m really not obsessed with him as a solution and think KC likely prefers to keep him…

    Well, you asked which two as well. Id prefer to hold Arias over Mayer, who is not without trade value himself. Also bear in mind, my goals are probably lower than yours. I want a LF/DH and a RP, and thats it. That can probably be had for far less, but the current players are winning now. Thsts if I was buying. I prefer to sell of Chapman, Gray (with cash), and Duran and reload for 2027…

    Eyanson and Witherspoon are the no-brainer preferences over Arias and Early. Arias’ rise might make Mayer more available on my eyes…

    No idea if Byrnes talks to Giants personnel, but he is a Bay Area celebrity with enough of a Q factor to do Auto Shield commercials 16 years after retiring from a mediocre MLB career, plus a brief career on the FOX MLB broadcasts as an analyst. Does he have better insights into that team than I do? Absolutely. And he probably at least has more access despite his repeatedly acting on camera like a total deuce bag. Dont ever make me defend Eric Byrnes again…

    Yes, and in his age 30 season. The wuestion does pop up about whether or not this is a permanent thing, the result of an injury, or just a statistical fluke. I think he is neither available nor on Boston’s radar, so this is a SF problem..

    Trade them for who? What exactly do you mean by “all in”? It looks more like “all out”. In the next 21 games, the Sox play Tampa, Baltimore, Toronto, at Oakland, at LAD, and then the White Sox back at Fenway, with those last 3 occurring after the trade deadline. If we go 14-7 in that stretch, on top of the 14-2 stretch the Sox just completed, assuming no injuries (unrealistic but you can’t plan for specific ones), what exactly is “all in”? At what point does the Sox current team look really good with only a tweak or two needed? Because if “all in” means trading Arias, Eyanson, Witherspoon and Early, I assume something(s) major is also coming back…

    ICora was always the players’ manager. Even Dombrowski had to tell him to stop getting ejected every time one of his players riled up thr umpire. i agree he should have told Devers, but I do believe Cora never made a decision based on defense ever, unless it involved Rafaela…

    I think they’re contenders but since it’s based on the weaklings around them, I think selling makes sense. But I think Breslow will buy, because selling is always the unpopular move…

    Dictator or not, isn’t it important the CBO and the manager are in the same page? And if they’re not and both are stubborn, Whats the expected outcome? Funny story - the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman portrayed Art Howe as a disgruntled manager in constant disagreement with his boss, Billy Beane (played by Brad Pitt). And despite the friction-filled relationship in the movie between Howe and Beane being largely fictional, after that Moneyball aired, Art Howe never worked in MLB again…

    Like the enthusiasm. But you can’t buy until someone is selling. Apparently that McCullers trade wasn’t so much the star of the trading frenzy as it was a salary dump by a team that might still be buying. One thing I’m not sure about wuth Breslow is he takes weird chances. I mean, why trade for Brett Harris but let Pavin Smith pass through waivers?

    So…counting the last 5 series, you’re saying the Sox could have a 28-9 stretch that encompasses playing nearly a quarter of the season with a winning percentage over .750, and you’re thought is “but this team has too many flaws!”??? I’m all for selling now, but if the winning keeps up, at what point do people think “hey, this team might actually be pretty good”?

    This might be the most pessimistic possible summary of the recent road trip. Might as well mention that the made 246 outs as well. 9-0 with 3 sweeps in 3 different time zones, something no other Sox team has ever done. Yes Judge was out, but how come no one else is sweeping the Yankees? Even in their paltry 3 game sets? It’s a crazy run. Probably their best 16 game stretch since 2018. I think this team could contend. And I think it makes more sense to sell. This team is being carried by young pitching, and pushing those pitchers to their limits to get into and make a dent in the postseason could easily ruin 2027. Early is already down. Let’s not force Bennett (who should be on a IP limit anyway) and Tolle join him.Deal away Gray, Duran and Chapman, and, if possible, IKF. Keep the rest and reload. There might only be 6 or 7 teams selling to 20 postseason hopefuls. Sellers’ market. Sell…
