The issue isn’t that you were down on the team, and no longer are. The issue is one guy who was down on the team, no longer is, and with his sudden enlightenment now feels he must berate anyone who was down on the team. Big difference…

And while there was certainly material, how many players, managers abd executives would you have walked up to and expressed the same opinion? Which players would you have told they weren’t good enough? I can go back to your original wuestion. As recently as the All Star break, I would most definitely have taken the opportunity to walk up to Breslow and say “You should sell. Your team is too dependent on young arms that will struggle if pushed too deep into the post-season, which could jeopardize 2027 as well. Then you go into next year with no Gray, likely no Bennett, likely no Early. Thats a lot to replace. Take a step back and reload for next year.” But there is nothing there he doesn’t already know, and it would not impact his decision coming from me. So what about you? You were on board with selling not too long ago. Would you have told the Sox personnel if you had the chance?

I have no problem with people changing their viewpoint. I do have a problem with folks changing their viewpoint and then suddenly deciding it entitles them to call anyone else out. Not worried about middle infield. It’s not just Seigler, Cheng and Monasterio. The Sox also have Story, Mayer, Sogard, and Romy on the 40 man roster. And Arias, Romero and Mason White all yet to be rostered. But I think Eyanson and Witherspoon is a solid first offer. Can the Yankees top it? I think so. I think Lombard and LaGrange is better. But will the Yankees offer it and do the A’s agree with me? TBD. The Yankees could just as easily pivot and offer something much lesser for Ryan Jeffers, who makes more sense since they probably shouldn’t replace Austin Wells at this stage of the season…
