  1. Lefty starting pitchers. He’s being platooned with Andres Chaparro…
  2. Some of us didn’t think so. Of course we also didn’t think this team had a double digit winning streak on the horizon…
  3. A month ago half the forum called this the worst Sox team they’d ever seen…
  4. I will file next to his last year’s “Peyton Tolle for Nate Lowe” trade suggestion…
  5. But he’s an even better left-handed bat, which is why he only hits from that side during games…
  6. This is true, but maybe a better overall player than Mead…
  7. You, sir, are pure, unadulterated evil…
  8. Semien was worth 3.4 bWAR last year while Nimmo was worth 2.8 bWAR. The Mets wanted the infield defense. It was a very equal trade…
  9. Even if they platoon Duran and Jones in LF and Yoshida and Romy at DH for now. Its like Cora never left!
  10. Then who at DH? Romy? Monasterio? Whoever gets called up replace Duran? Eaton? Sogard? Campbell?
  11. Langeliers would be perfect, but is there net scuttlebutt accurate? MLBTR, for example, does not think he’s available. At a minimum, Langeliers is controlled through 2028, so no rush to move him. And I have to think the Athletics would like to debut in Vegas with a lineup featuring Kurtz, Langeliers, Rooker, Butler, Soderstrom and Wilson. That does look like one to sell tickets. But I could also see them dealing someone (not named Kurtz) for pitching, as well.
  12. They traded him for a contract about $30mill larger…
  13. That would be fine. I usually look at worst case first…
  14. Seager has been on the IL three times this year, twice for back injuries snd once for a concussion. The scariest injury there is the concussion, as that type of injury has prematurely ended a few excellent MLB careers, notably Justin Morneau and Jason Bay. If a first place team is shopping their star player mid-July - buyer beware. I’d avoid Corey Seager at any price…
  15. From BTV: Curtis Mead - $11.7mil Luis Garcia Jr - $11.1mil Kyson Witherspoon - $11.8mill Sadbiel. Delzine - $11.2 mill Henry Godbout - $9.3mill. Doubtful they want anyone but Witherspoon…
  16. Garcia is probably the better 2b option. Either works for me…
  17. Shaw is reportedly available but definitely pricey. If Minn sells, I can’t see them turning down offers for Kody Clemens. Detroit is another one whose plan is TBD, but Torres has spent the bulk of the year injured…
  18. Just distinguishing between Duran and underwater contracts attached to players ineligible to be non-tendered. Duran is movable. And he can be moved easily if need be…
  19. Duran isn’t some sort of underwater contract that can tie teams down. I’d be surprised if some/most didn’t look at him as a 29yo outfielder that has been worth over 15 bWAR with an OPS+ of 124 over the previous 3 seasons but is struggling now, wuth a few possible reasons why, such as: 1. Duran completely forgot how to hit. 2. Duran is playing through some sort of injury. 3. Duran is having a bad year. I think most (all?) would settle on 2 or 3 and therefore view Duran as a “buy low” option…
  20. With the Orioles winning 7 in a row and their status as sellers in question, I think Taylor Ward becomes less of an option and I moved towards Steer as my new favorite. But Curtis Mead is also on my radar…
