    Tracy

Well, when you preach “pitching, defense and three-run homers,” there isn’t a lot of room for managerial decisions…
  2. I think theyre going to platoon him wuth Jahmai Jones, so as to continue that Red Sox tradition of elite left fielders - Williams to Yaz to Rice to Manny to Jarren and Jahmai. It just flows…
  3. Stalin? How old are they? I was thinking Freddie Mercury and I thought I was outdated. Is Ron Burgundy the new standard?
  4. So the Angels will listen on Neto after all. Mayer, Eyanson and Cespedes?
  5. Since the longest winning streak in team history is 15 games, 29-1 was only possible in 1946…
  6. Tracy hasn’t had any Morgan Moments. Early in that streak, Morgan pulled Mike Greenwell, who was the MVP runner-up that year (or MVP winner, non-steroid division) so sub.200 hitting Kevin Romine could pinch run for him. Romine stayed in te game and hit a 9th inning walk off home run in the 9th. Who pulls a player having an MVP-caliber season for a pinch runner before the ninth, only to insert the guy that hits the walk off? Guessing that was an MLB first…
  7. Especially considering the Sox played under .500 the rest of the way that year…
  8. I was a game short on my opening streak. I’ll take it since I didn’t look anything up…
  9. I think it was 11-0 and then a loss on their way to 18-1…
  10. Mayer? Yes. Early? No. And Early’s injury status makes him less desirable…
  11. Cheng at SS, Story at 2b. f*** platoons.
  12. So Early is available but Eyanson is not? I go the other way there. Other than that, I’m fine with it. Run it by Craig…
  13. Do you kiss your mother with that emoji sequence?
  14. I think the Sox do, unless they upgrade JJ. But otherwise 1. Duran is already here and despite his weak BA and OPS, is still third on the team in HR and RBI (and it took a recent surge from Abreu to push him back to third in both). 2. Jones means Duran doesn’t have to face LHP (career OPS .614). 3. Trading for a LF might be wasteful if Anthony returns 4. It’s not like Duran has never hit before. So yeah, very likely….
  15. Who are the better available hitters?
  16. The note is an urban legend. Chick Stahl’s suicide while managing the Red Sox is not…
  17. I see LF and maybe 2b. I liked Taylor Ward but Baltimore might be back as a buyer. Steer is nice because he plays both positions. And by “plays” I mean he knows where they are and can limit the number of times he embarrasses himself out there. Mead is no defensive whiz either but he as come a long way ss a hitter…
  18. So you weren’t even considering the 1907 Red Sox (59-90), a team so bad their manager committed suicide and in his note left a message to the team saying “you drive me to it, boys”…
  19. As much as his initial hot streak was fun, yes, Seigler is not thr solution at 2b. Hopefully Story can be upon his return, or the Sox can acquire Mead or Steer or someone…
  20. I said I didn’t think they are there worst Sox team ever, which is not the same as worst offense in MLB…
