  1. I was going to say Timlin had more. But your question could have a correct answer - Mike Stanton had as many rings as Papi (Yankees in 1998, 1999, 2000). But Stanton is not a Sox Hall of Famer…
  2. I have very strong doubts the Cardinals had any plans to out Contreras back at catcher. They rarely used a much better defender in Ivan Herrera behind the plate…
  3. Probably not worth mentioning but with Daniel Susac on the Giants, he is now with the same organization his older brother Andrew began his career with 12 years ago…
  4. I’m not wild about Shaw for other reasons, but he did have an .839 OPS in the second half. If the Sox got that kind of resurgence out of Campbell, this infield would be all set…
  5. And if he ever catches, a fifth option and a backup 1b become essential…
  6. Hopefully Contreras never catches. Hes really not good at it anymore. He has a dangerous tendency to set up far too close to hitters, something that came to light when JD Martínez broke Willson’s arm during his swing..
  7. As it stands now, he’s their 4th best defensive outfielder. So either trade him or LF/DH him wuth Anthony. Im as pro-Yoshida as anyone, but right now he’s not part of their best starting lineup. Bench him or demote him. No need to release him and very tough to trade him…
  8. Oh so you’re the guy that saw it…
  9. I think someone needs to bring back “skinflint”…
  10. Susac wasn’t waived. He just wasn’t protected from being picked in the Rule 5 draft. Minnesota took him in the Rule 5 draft and traded him to San Fran in a similar transaction to the one in which the Sox acquired Ryan Watson…
  11. And the Mets are a laughingstock. They might represent the worst use of $350 million dollars since Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. And for what it costs to fix that pitching staff, I’m going to have to start making expensive bad movie titles up, like Sharkzilla vs the Little Mermaid or Avatar IV - Bloodsucking Needles…
  12. He bought the trademark. Every time he types it, he has to pay himself a penny. ”Tightwad” and “Scrooge” are still public domain…
  13. … and get another Master’s degree…
  14. It’s a pipe dream for the Mets…
  15. And about 4 years ago, you could apply that same description to Rob Refsnyder…
  16. Maybe. The Sox have Gonzalez, Hamilton and Gray for infield beyond the starters. But only two catchers on the 40 man roster..
  17. Well, improving it over Alonso and Vientos, so… baby steps, I guess…
  18. Maybe he should use his MasterCard instead… <rimshot>
  19. My point. Cora verbally said Mayer was his 3b, but that means nothing now…
  20. Then sign Jonah Heim, just because it stops Craig from looking for backup catchers. C: Narvaez 1b: Contreras 2b: Mayer 3b: Paredes SS: Story LF: Duran CF: Rafaela RF: Abreu DH: Anthony Bench: Heim, Gonzalez, Hamilton, Yoshida (Wong to Worcester for now) SP: Crochet/Suarez/Gray/Sandoval/Crawford (Oviedo) BP: Chapman, Whitlock, Slaten, Weissert, Hicks, Moran, Harrison, Watson DFA: Sogard (to add Sánchez). Heim gets signed/added after Houck is placed on the 60 day IL).
  21. The Mets rotation on Roster Resource is McLean, Peterson, Holmes, Manaea snd Senga. They need SP, too…
