  1. No idea when you had the season ticket holder call was, but there were plenty of rumblings about Betts’ desire to test free agency going back into the 2019 season. Now, there was also buzz that he had a price. Reportedly an outrageous one...
  2. Pillar to the Mets...
  3. The power outage took down your toilet?!!?!?!? Wow, even vacuums don't work in Maine when the power goes out!! I hope the gravity still operated
  4. Can't the same be said for Benintendi? Trading Mookie was one thing, but let's not go overboard here...
  5. Marcus Walden probably needs some mention, too..
  6. One potential problem was, I am not sure Mookie shared this priority...
  7. Yes it is a Star Wars thing. And I doubt you have to worry, as the Sox are liekly deeper into bargains that Gardner. But I'd love to see him come to Boston and beat up on Yankee pitching for a year...
  8. I'll be happy if they go 19-143, as long as all 19 wins come against the Yankees...
  9. Any reason? Personal theory - with all the scouting data being over a year old and potentially outdated, the Sox front office wants to get as much current data as possible. If I'm right, this means taking as much of the 6 months as they can...
  10. Counting Sawamura? MLBTR has the deal as close...
  11. Frazier could also be a LHH OF platoon. He’s a good player, but I would be surprised if the Sox acquired him. Maybe because it’s Feb 15th and I’m used to the off-season being basically over by now...
  12. So has Springs. Looks like two potential DFAs with Sawamura potentially joining shortly. Candidates include Springs, Wilson and who? Brewer? Is Brice a legitimate option?
  13. I have some hopes...
  14. The Sox do have two OF’s capable of CF. They still could bring in Pillar, or they could bring in a LHH OF to platoon in a corner with Renfroe. I like Gardner, but I would be extremely surprised if they sign him. Reddick is probably more likely than Gardner but less likely than Pillar. Like to see Workman come back. And Brice depart...
  15. On deck, Marcus Wilson?
  16. I don’t think every pitcher prefers a defined role. Fans universally do. But some pitchers do, some don’t care. As humans, there are very few broad brushstrokes that apply universally. That said, many?/most?/all? probably do prefer to be named closer, as that translates financially...
  17. And Renfroe full time in LF?
  18. I don’t think an OPS of 3.000 makes much difference. Usually only maybe one bench spot is open in spring training, and no one gives those spots to prospects, since it’s a waste of service time. Duran’s only hope in ST is if the Sox decide he is the immediate answer in CF...
  19. I suspect none will be named until August or so in order to get as thorough of an evaluation as possible...
  20. Also per MLBTR, Mets’ GM and former Sox employee Zack Scott has a long time man crush on Khalil Lee. Obviously the Sox don’t know who they want yet, but it could be someone from a list of intriguing players...
  21. I don’t mind him in the 7th/8th innings. Or whenever the opposing best hitters are up...
  22. Verdugo. I’d like to say Cordero but he needs to last a full season first.
  23. So you think DHern will learn to throw a strike?
  24. And even then Hanley looked like the right guy until he got injured...
  25. Possible that things changed when Betts refused to sign anything and San Diego and the Dodgers came with offers? It always seemed like extending Betts was on everyone’s radar, except Betts’. So Bllom knows Sale is injured, Betts is under control for one more year, and the two best farm systems in baseball are asking about him?
