  1. And if he signs Odorizzi and Bradley, I don’t see how Toronto is markedly better. This team would then easily in the running for second in the East and playing in October...
  2. Absolutely. Bring in Bradley and Odorizzi (or Porcello). The Sox just reset. Why worry about going over?
  3. No. He takes lots of money and then fails to return good baseball. He’s a thief and a Villar...
  4. Like if he signed Villar for 2b?
  5. No pen. That’s actually the full story...
  6. Just 3 years and $109 mill. Or one Trevor Bauer...
  7. Houston used to be the worst when they had Tal’s Hill and a freakin’ flagpole out there. Wrigley probably is now. Ivy is no substitute for padding on brick walls...
  8. In those same season’s Bradley’s OPS+‘s are 89, 90, 92, 118. So how much of an improvement is Hernandez over Bradley? They’re similar hitters, as Bradley’s OPS+ of 94 in that timeframe is a bit under EHern’s 98. But like with CF defense, Bradley’s numbers come as a full time regular and not a sporadic part timer...
  9. Do they think it means he’ll be back in 60 days? Are they aware that’s a minimum and not a set duration? Prince Fielder spent multiple consecutive seasons on the 60 day IL. All it means is Sale will be out long enough that the Sox need not hold his 40 man roster spot...
  10. Did he break it in a tar pit? Injuries just prove my and JBJ's point. The job has enough going on without some lunatic deciding to add hills and flagpoles and quicksand out there. This is center field, not Pitfall! (Waiting to see who gets that reference.)
  11. Or Porcello...
  12. Besides, JBJ would never play for the Astros. Bradley is not going to play for a team that once disrespected center field by putting a hill with a flagpole right in the middle of the playing field. Sure. it's gone now, but its not like they took it down for safety reasons. You know, like a sane person would. They took it down to put in more seats. So if you're Bradley playing for the Astroos, you might find yourself going go to work every day scared of what these psychopaths are going to dream up next for your part of the field. Will you show up one day and there is a crocodile pond in CF? Or a tar pit? Maybe a raging bonfire? A bus full of of mimes? Or maybe nothing, and do you wonder "minefield?" Stay at Fenway. Sure the walls are all at funny angles, but no hills, no flagpoles and no tar pits...
  13. Also I think you're looking at Minute Maid Park through a mirror. The short porch is in LF. Under that scoreboard than Stanton broke. The RF line is deeper, and the right fielder and right-center distances are also further than their LF counterparts...
  14. When has JBJ bet on himself before? He even settled before his arbitration hearing last season...
  15. Bradley in CF. Verdugo in RF. Cordero/Renfroe in LF...
  16. Is Houston interested? It seemed like a match made in heaven back in November, but the two sides have never come to an agreement. At some point, one has to wonder if JBJ wants to play for the Nippon Ham Fighters...
  17. Porcello's fastball velocity is, like his IP totals, unwavering over the course of his career, ranging from a high of 93.5 mph (in 2012) to a low of 91.4 mph (in 2011). Last year it was 92.1 mph. (Data per Fangraphs). That's such a Porcello-like consistency. Now go sign him, Bloom...
  18. Gardner back to NY for $4mill What does this do to JBJ's price tag?
  19. Maybe. Hernandez had a negative UZR/150 in CF for the first time in his career. Of course, playing only 20 innings out there probably also did not help. That he has never played more than 372 innings in a season in CF is a bigger factor for me. Makes his metrics suspect...
  20. There's actually more than that. I have heard Chaz Roe rumors for example, but he is not on anyone's list of free agents...
  21. I think it helps if you remember the analytics measure accomplishments, not ability. If Bradley got to fewer flyballs because Betts was already in position to take them, it did not help his analytics. It also did not mean JBJ was not going to get to them with a lesser RF out there...
  22. Dalbec at 1b, but is he a step up or down from Moreland? Interesting they "sucked" in 2019 with Bradley and Betts in CF and RF respectively...
  23. Yoan Moncada is claiming he is back at full strength after feeling fatigued pretty much all of last season...
  24. Things can change as the injuries pile up. The number of injured CF's around MLB right now is at a season-low...
