  1. And can we get Brice out of there? What is a post-COVID Taylor ?
  2. You're only proving my point...
  3. Whether you like his judgement or not, he is the guy making the calls in Pittsburgh...
  4. moon's proposed deal is a salary dump for the Pirates, who could actually use Chavis at 1B where they only seem to have LHH Colin Moran, who is not exactly a contact machine himself (26% K rate). And Pitt GM Ben Cherington apparently liked Chavis enough at one point to take him in the first round...
  5. Well, the GM of the Pirates did draft Chavis in the first round.
  6. Trade what? I wouldn't be surprised if the Sox made no more additions. I will be disappointed, but I won't be surprised...
  7. Well, I did not know he vacationed there 7 years ago!! That changes everything! The problem with the Mariners is they have a talented young CF in Kyle Lewis. And Bradley is not an "outfielder." He is a "centerfielder". Playing him in either corner is misusing him...
  8. Straw is a formal infielder with lightning speed. They can find multiple ways to get the 2019 version into the lineup. The obvious other CF still looking for work is Brett Gardner, not Dyson, who is a career backup on a good day. Now if the Astros sign Gardner for CF, that really leaves JBJ scrambing, with his non-Sox options suddenly looking to include the Chunichi Dragons...
  9. Astros, Phillies and Red Sox. I do think the Sox are the least likely of the three...
  10. Who was it who said the Sox would not be able to keep two $30million players?
  11. Now are the Phillies the Dark Horse in the JBJ Sweepstakes? No rumors to date that I have seen linking them to Bradley. But consider the following: 1. The Phillies missed the postseason last year. 2. The Marlins didn't. 3. They have added 0 new position players to their sub-.500 lineup. 4. Their starting CF is Scott Kingery. 4. Their other options are Adam Hasely and Roman Quinn
  12. Maybe. But JBJ is running out of options. I think Houston might top a 2/$15 offer. I keep hearing the Mets are still in. How many CF's does one team need? They're going to give Brandon Nimmo a complex if they keep adding more after already bringing in Almora, Pillar and Khalil Lee. No way the Mets still want Bradley. Boras priced him out of that market...
  13. Yeah... that's a good strategy. Should have just traded for Taillon. He's had TWO upticks in velocity. One more TJ and he will be Nolan Freakin' Ryan 2.0...
  14. Pillar got a $5mill AAV. Where does that price out Bradley?
  15. Yeah but why grab a guy in May only to see him need TJ in July? Since most of them are probably in A ball, they have time to develop them properly. Hopefully at least one is a high upside catcher. If the Sox farm is devoid of any position, it's catcher. And Vazquez is gone after 2022, barring an extension...
  16. Per a700, he was answering a question. Unless I misunderstood that part and refuse to go back and look it up. He can correct me if need be...
  17. The timing is immaterial. Right after he was hired, doubtful he had any sort of executable plan...
  18. I would have liked that, and I have always maintained (correct or not) that it was more possible without some of the other spending...
  19. It is certainly still possible. I have Bradley's options down to 4 teams, maybe 5 if the White Sox will move Luis Robert to LF. And Boston is certainly one of them...
  20. Agreed, but I can see it not being the plan. Although Bradley is running out of options and might very well be the Sox CF, at least for one more year...
  21. I would agree normally. And I’d have understood him saying “we don’t know yet.” But RSN does have a lot of fans who think Henry can and should just spend more no matter what. One of the most generous owners in MLB and some think he shouldn’t have a limit. I mean, even yesterday Elktonnick kept talking about how Henry was dedicated to some super power Euro football league. So? It’s his money. And the Sox still have a large payroll and are not in danger of becoming the Pirates or Rays just yet..,
  22. Mookie wanted to test the market. Bloom said he wanted to keep Mookie. Not necessarily an easy task. I think trading Mookie came about when Bloom realized he had to cut payroll and no one wanted Price or Eovaldi...
  23. I never said Mookie didn’t want to come back to Boston. But he reportedly did want to test the market, which is not the same thing. And as he wanted to test the market, that strongly weakened Boston’s position. Of course, it did not necessitate a trade. Unless no other way was found to get under the tax limit. Not like Price or Eovaldi were in demand any more...
  24. He can take the next eight elsewhere...
  25. JBJ is watching all the chairs fill up and the music is stopping. His best potential seats now are probably with the Cubs, Astros, Phillies and Red Sox, with the names being selected via painstaking research as to what are the first 4 teams I could think of that might need a CF...
