    You might be right. I used some service time rule I found and counted backwards to get a date. If it’s today (technically tomorrow), that expedites when Duran can be called up, but they still might wait. One way to know for certain is to see when the Rays call up Wander Franco. They will do that the day after the Super Two deadline...

    Like it or not, I'd be surprised if Duran gets added to the 40 man roster until at a minimum, the Super Two deadline passes. Not sure when this is, but Duran would need at least 86 days of service time, which would put his call up just after July 10, and has to be in the top 22% for total service of all eligible players. So if the Sox are as high on Duran as many of you are, unless there is a glut of upcoming rookies, I would suspect we wait at least 5 more weeks. And given how little actual quality minor league time he has above A Ball, it's hard to argue that is service time manipulation...

    Apparently my prediction of JT Ginn is extremely unlikely, as Ginn had TJ surgery this off-season. Shame, because after I made it, Fangraphs ranked Lee and Ginn right next to each other with the same Future Value, so it looked like a good swap. With Ginn obviously off the table, maybe one of the high upside 3b prospects like Mark Vientos or Brett Baty is more likely...

    MLB.com's latest mock draft has the Sox taking Davis while passing on Rocker. But they also cite that the Sox might cut a deal with a lesser player at 4 in order to save some cash for later picks, presumably those who fall for signability reasons...

    In fact, MLB has also never had a player whose last name was the same as the city he played for. Maybe if Daryl Boston had played for the Red Sox or Reggie Cleveland had pitched for the Guardians, then at least one player could have had the same name on both sides of the road jersey. Now, the Cleveland Naps do sort of fall into the "Browns" category in that they were named after a player. But they went with the abbreviated first name...

In fact if Brewer went to Milwaukee, he would be the first player in MLB history whose last name matched his team moniker aka the the first player ever with his last name on both front and back of his jersey. Unless Robbie Ray gets dealt to Tampa first. The closest to date would be when Gary Redus played in Cincinnati, as he had just one extra letter...

    The Sox need to trade Brewer to Milwaukee. In their entire history, Milwaukee has never had a player named “Brewer”. That needs to change...
