    And that was Hudson’s problem. Here he probably saw Chisholm keep the ball in the infield and get to his feet while Eaton’s was rounding third, and he didnt stop to accurately predict Chisholm was going to make a crappy throw before wantonly throwing up the stop sign. Curse him for not making some sort of Wendell Kim style aggressive call that all Sox fans loved for years and years!!

    It could be. It’s not like the veterans hit the ground running. Durbin never even met Bregman and he started off (and arguably still is) hitting poorly after a decent season last year…

    I think the stories about Bregman’s impact on Sox hitters is more of a statement about the Sox (now departed) coaching staff than it is about Bregman. There has been no mention of that side of him on the Cubs, and they are not without young players in their lineup…

    You’re never going to give up that it was the right call. Chisholm had plenty of time to see he had no play at 1b and still had a play at home. But maybe it’s time to acknowledge at best, that would have only tied the score…

    Given how well Devers accepted the move to DH, it doesn’t look like changing positions was something that Devers was open to. Cora appeared to know this, which could very well be why he was stand-off ish in the talks about DH and avoided the first base conversation altogether…

    For whatever reason, IKF was maybe 2-3 feet off the bag. At third base, the coach is RIGHT THERE. If it wasn’t some team philosophy, I’d think the third base coach would be saying “Take more steps! Take a bigger lead!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ALMIGHTY GET CLOSER TO HOME PLATE!!” But it didn’t look like he said anything…

    Yes. The only others that even have WS experience are IKF, Suarez, and, if he’s ever added, Tommy Kahnle. IKF would have a ring if he took a decent lead…

    I think he means he has faith in establidhed hitters lie Papi eventually coming around, as opposed to unknowns like Mayer. But with Mayer up to .688, where are all those Luke Keaschall supporters from a couple weeks ago?
