  1. Can we refer to people like that as simpletons?
  2. I 100% believe she blames you ..,
  3. It’s also easy for Matt Wallner to bat .350 with 45 home runs in MLB The Show…
  4. Yes. And if the Sox cannot get back what they want for Duran, keep him. It’s not a bad thing. I am for trading Bello instead. Unlike Duran, every team will want him. Maybe not to the point of giving up their 2b, 3b or catcher. But the interest should be universal. And while I understand you can never have enough pitching, it is possible to have too many starting pitchers on your 40 man roster…
  5. Probably. I think everyone gets one. I was on a train with an old woman who answered phones for the Cubs’ customer service. And since she had that same job in 2016, she had a World Series ring, which she was wearing. So if answering the phone gets you a World Series ring, I imagine actually playing 8 games does, too…
  6. If the Sox don’t like the players, is that really their fault? I mean half of trading is getting back something you want…
  7. If teams are offering something paltry for 3 years of a 5 fWAR outfielder, I’m prone to keep him. The notion of his value to another team is meaningless if the other team doesn’t agree…
  8. They used 4 catchers last year. Pedro Pages was the primary catcher Yohel Pozo was the primary backup Ivan Herrera did catch some, but was the primary DH Jimmy Crooks also caught about 100 or so innings. They had no reason to ever put Contreras back behind the plate. I view any internet chatter about Contreras catching the same way I viewed talk of moving Pedroia to SS - if it was said, it was done so with an ulterior motive…
  9. I was going to say Timlin had more. But your question could have a correct answer - Mike Stanton had as many rings as Papi (Yankees in 1998, 1999, 2000). But Stanton is not a Sox Hall of Famer…
  10. I have very strong doubts the Cardinals had any plans to out Contreras back at catcher. They rarely used a much better defender in Ivan Herrera behind the plate…
  11. Probably not worth mentioning but with Daniel Susac on the Giants, he is now with the same organization his older brother Andrew began his career with 12 years ago…
  12. I’m not wild about Shaw for other reasons, but he did have an .839 OPS in the second half. If the Sox got that kind of resurgence out of Campbell, this infield would be all set…
  13. And if he ever catches, a fifth option and a backup 1b become essential…
  14. Hopefully Contreras never catches. Hes really not good at it anymore. He has a dangerous tendency to set up far too close to hitters, something that came to light when JD Martínez broke Willson’s arm during his swing..
  15. As it stands now, he’s their 4th best defensive outfielder. So either trade him or LF/DH him wuth Anthony. Im as pro-Yoshida as anyone, but right now he’s not part of their best starting lineup. Bench him or demote him. No need to release him and very tough to trade him…
  16. Oh so you’re the guy that saw it…
  17. I think someone needs to bring back “skinflint”…
  18. Susac wasn’t waived. He just wasn’t protected from being picked in the Rule 5 draft. Minnesota took him in the Rule 5 draft and traded him to San Fran in a similar transaction to the one in which the Sox acquired Ryan Watson…
  19. And the Mets are a laughingstock. They might represent the worst use of $350 million dollars since Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. And for what it costs to fix that pitching staff, I’m going to have to start making expensive bad movie titles up, like Sharkzilla vs the Little Mermaid or Avatar IV - Bloodsucking Needles…
  20. He bought the trademark. Every time he types it, he has to pay himself a penny. ”Tightwad” and “Scrooge” are still public domain…
  21. … and get another Master’s degree…
  22. It’s a pipe dream for the Mets…
  23. And about 4 years ago, you could apply that same description to Rob Refsnyder…
