  1. I don’t see how these hitters can lay off pitches that close. Okay, with all due respect to Harry Doyle, it’s not like the ump has had a tight strike zone. Most of these balls haven’t been close.
  2. On the other hand, if every reliever Cora tries sucks, there’s not much he can do.
  3. It’s anecdotal I know, but it seems to me there have been a lot of times this year where Robles has come in with a clean inning, gets a quick 2 outs and then can’t finish the inning.
  4. Hill should have been taken out when he had that grimace. I watched his practice pitches, there was still a look on his face that said something was wrong. He wasn’t even close to the same for the couple batters he faced after that.
  5. Diekman not sharp; not a surprise, he hasn’t pitched since last Friday, and he hasn’t been a model of control this year anyway. Meanwhile, Robles has sucked four times since then.
  6. Wasn’t available (unless he pulled a Bugs Bunny cartoon and both pitched and caught; I don’t think Kevin quite has the speed for that).
  7. Pivetta’s had a couple of those tonight. Ump hasn’t missed one of Manoah’s pitches. Tapia continues to be a PITA.
  8. Pivetta’s got his work cut out for him tonight; Manoah looks nasty.
  9. Tyler knew Houck’s status; d-money is the one who somehow didn’t know.
  10. You really are an idiot. Do you watch games? Do you read articles? Do you read anything here? This has been discussed ad nauseum for months.
  11. That beer league softball player is hitting over .300 and likely headed to the All Star Game.
  12. Need to work on your iambic pentameter;)
  13. Too close to the end of the bat.
  14. Tough call. The lefty Tapia leads off but then 3 straight very tough righties after that.
  15. At least that time he was in something resembling standard 2nd base position
  16. Interesting use of Schreiber here in the 7th.
  17. He wasn’t going to keep hitting .370, we all knew that. But he really hasn’t been making decent contact for a while now. He’s gotten hits, but a lot of them have been pretty soft.
  18. Another effing shift hit.
  19. Tapia’s beginning to remind me of Bret Gardner, a PITA against the Sox.
  20. JD really looks like he could use a day or 2 off.
  21. That’s not a DP you see very often, like never.
  22. They seem to have done a lot of that vs. the Sox this year.
  23. Weird game. Arroyo pops it foul 2 feet further and Guerrero Jr. doesn’t make that catch; who knows what happens from there. Contrast with the first inning, Chapman fouls it 6 inches less, Cordero makes the catch and the 2 run double never happens. Heck, does the 6’4” Dalbec make that catch vs. the 6’3” Cordero. Plus how many ground ball hits can the Jays get?
