  1. Depends on if Cora has a brain cramp and uses Robles. I sink or swim with Diekman.
  2. HBP may have helped the Sox in that regard; Wisdom doesn’t appear to be a bunter.
  3. That HBP means nothing. How about a ground ball that hits a base to end it.
  4. They have been more than patient with him, but there is way too much, in the words of the great Ernie Harwell, “stood there like the house at the side of the road” and it’s getting worse.
  5. Especially when one scores on a DP ball and another on a dropped ball in the sun.
  6. Verdugo needed to get in a run down there, allow JBJ to replace him at 3rd.
  7. Exactly. A loss today and the one yesterday are on the offense. At least yesterday you could chalk it up to some good Cubs pitching. Today there is no excuse, plenty of chances.
  8. Devers for a K, Story for a K and then Verdugo will line it into somebody’s glove.
  9. Raffle trying to go too much right now. Looks like he’s pulling off of everything.
  10. A DP is how they scored their run yesterday.
  11. Crap, you answered too quickly. For those wondering, a ruble is worth about 2 cents right now.
  12. Same with Winckowski yesterday. There’s a word for it - baseball.
  13. I wouldn’t call it suckitude. He’s pitched better, but he did throw 17 strikes out of 19 pitches. Struck out the first guy, then gave up a hard single that actually made the outfield. Pinch runner stole second but probably would have been out had a Bogaerts bothered to catch the throw. Hauvk struck out the next guy, then the wild pitch, followed by a solid single to left center, then struck out the last batter to end the inning. Not sharp, but not horrible. Pitching was definitely not the issue tonight.
  14. K looking, with the only swing being JD on a ball that almost hit him. Like I said, this week has had a very April feel to it.
  15. The last 5 games have had a very April feel to them.
  16. Yeah, the Cubs are hitting lasers off of him. Devers put them in a hole with two errors that inning, one physical on the throw and one mental by failing to cover 3rd on the bouncer to Cordero. It could be argued he made another mental error by playing so deep in the bunt.
  17. Cubs fans are crazy. True story, one time at Wrigley, the entire crowd gave me a standing ovation when I came out of the bathroom. Okay, Andre Dawson had just hit his 3rd homer of the game, but it could have been for me. Maybe?
  18. Well at least Thunder will get to here that stupid Cubs song.
  19. Hey, at least he pitched a inning without completely sucking.
  20. No, it was during that 5th inning. I don’t recall which batter.
  21. Looked like ball four to Vazquez (catchers don’t usually react like that) but your overall point holds.
  22. 5th inning; looked like he twisted his knee on a pitch. He threw a couple of practice pitches and said he was fine, but like I said, I watched his face on those pitches and there was a uncomfortable look on it. His control went to complete crap right after that.
