  1. Wind is blowing in from center. Unusual for this time of year.
  2. And this has to do with trades how?
  3. Maybe Eck could have answered better or said no comment but Price could have taken the high road and just moved on. Price chose to escalate the rhetoric. He’s the one who can’t seem to let it go. It should go nowhere and it should not affect the NESN appearances.
  4. Yeah, but he’d pitch 3 innings if he had to.
  5. God I hate how Vazquez does that high strike call.
  6. I hadn’t thought about it but you’re right. Devers is a much better 3rd sacker though. Yaz was a great LF and a decent 1st baseman but the month or so he tried to play 3rd he was awful.
  7. He should play 4-5x a week. His history is he wears down playing every day.
  8. It was pretty innocuous. Chad Finn asked about it in an interview and Eck basically said he didn’t care one way or another and that he doubted Price did either. Price then fired back and Eck responded. So once again, the media creates the story.
  9. I would, but then I wouldn’t have taken Barnes out after the 7th. Besides, who else do they have. Ain’t trusting this one to Walden.
  10. Saw a good trivia question today. What do the Cubs and White Sox have in common (besides both being from Chicago)? I’ll give the answer now cause nobody will get it unless they’ve seen it before. None of them ever won a World Series during the lifespan of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The USSR was founded 23 days after the White Sox won the 1917 World Series.
  11. Whoever has the best overall record.
  12. He was a singles hitting speed guy who knew his limitations. He hit a grand total of 7 homers in his 11 year career (2 of those with Boston) and none in his last 6 seasons. I wonder if any were inside the park.
  13. and then compounding it by just laying down and not allowing the batter to replace you at second?
  14. Disagree, I don’t see that as a mental error; that’s a physical one. A mental error is throwing to the wrong base or a pitcher failing to cover first on a right side grounder.
  15. Smoak up. He’s killed us over the years in these situations. They really needed to turn that DP.
  16. They score for him. His stats aren’t that great but they score when he’s pitching.
  17. Crash Davis would have said it needed a stewardess.
  18. You were expecting a shutout? Solo homers don’t usually hurt too much. It’s four bases and the pitcher starts clean. Spread those same 4 bases over 4 singles and you have a run in and the bases loaded or 2 runs in and still 2 guys on.
  19. Smoak is one of the slowest guys in the league but still ...
  20. If it’s an ERod start, it must be raining.
  21. Beni may or may not have peaked; it’s way too early to know. I don’t think he’s going to be a superstar, but there’s no reason to think he won’t be a decent major leaguer.
  22. Nah. For one thing, he’s 33. For another, he’s a career .247 hitter, and that includes this year’s .300+.
  23. Sogard is a great lead off guy. His ABs remind me of Boggs.
  24. Overall across all of MLB: 2019 4.82 runs per game .252/.322/.433/.756 slashline ERA 4.48 2018 4.48 runs per game .248/.318/.409/.728 slashline ERA 4.14 Interestingly, this year looks a bit like 2017 2017 4.65 rums per game .255/.324/.426/.750 slashline ERA 4.35
