  1. Huge advantage for the Dodgers from here forward. Sox have Walden and Neck Tat left in the pen; not great choices and the bad guys have 3-4-5 coming up.
  2. Double dumb on JBJs part. First, he shouldn’t have gone. Then, once he does, he needs to get into a rundown to let Hernandez get to 2nd.
  3. I’ll say it again; the Dodgers are really good at fouling off tough pitches. You may get them eventually, but they are going to make you work to do it.
  4. Bellinger was also lucky he wasn’t called out on what was ball 2.
  5. More likely Holt will hit for him. If not, Nunez will be definitely be bunting. EDIT - forgot about Hernandez.
  6. I assume they did the stat cast calculations and took it from there.
  7. Because he was waiting for that change-up?
  8. Kids It’s from The Godfather, although Mario Puzo wrote the novel that inspired the movie.
  9. You need a horse to make it work.
  10. Wasn’t the commissioner, it was the players association. They wouldn’t let him reduce his contract.
  11. Ryu is a damn good pitcher. You’ll note his ERA coming in was sub 2.00. I don’t care what league you’re in, that’s dealing and he’s been doing it all year.
  12. You have a very warped view of not good. They are very good, especially their starting pitching.
  13. Joe Morgan? You’ve got to be kidding me. His analysis came down to no hitter ever got a base hit on anything other than a mistake by the pitcher, except if you played for the Big Red Machine. Miller was excellent; I still remember the couple years he spent as the Red Sox radio guy.
  14. Dodgers have fouled off a lot of 2 strike pitches tonight. I remember when the good guys used to do that.
  15. IIRC, Ichiro sported one for many years. BTW, Ryu is Korean.
  16. And high stress ones at that.
  17. I don’t mind the play by play guy. I can handle Mendoza, although she is adding less and less all the time, probably because ARod never shuts up.
  18. Dodgers scored on a walk, a Bogaerts error and a pop fly passed the Pesky Pole.
  19. Not sure Bogie got in on that one, at least live.
  20. The Betts of last year scores on that.
  21. It’ll be overturned but how in the world does the ump miss that one?
  22. Is it me or do opponents seem to hit a lot more homers around the Pesky Pole than the Sox do?
  23. Beat me to it. I was figuring 70 games would mean 14-15 starts, or 6+ per start; he was averaging about 5 2/3 with the O’s so it could be tight, especially if one of the main 4 miss any time.
  24. All that can be said about this game is all the warts showed up tonight. Frankly, I’d rather they all be at once rather than crappy starting pitching one game, lousy relief pitching a different night and no offense a third, which could mean 3 Ls instead of 1.
