  1. It’s good or excellent, My teenaged mind of 50+ years ago kind of translated it as large and the main phrase I remember from the book was horrorshow groodies, which dealt with the torso of a grown woman (like I said, I was a teenager). I admit I looked up the Russian word for gap, so my phase above was meant as large holes in the offense. Here’s a link to Clockwork terminology. https://www.sparknotes.com/lit/clockworkorange/terms/
  2. To keep this on baseball, the Red Sox offense has some horrorshow probels in it. (My apologies if I bastardized the NadSat language there).
  3. Waaaay too early to do either. 1) Folks here couldn't wait to get rid of Hamilton last year. He's had a slightly better start this year, but let's not pretend he's done a whole lot better than he did last year here. He's pretty much at his career numbers and those are nothing to be excited about. 2) Harrison has had a good 9 games covering 45 innings. Maybe its a hot streak or maybe he's matured. There is nothing from his years in SF that screams keeps me and he only pitched in 3 games for the Sox last year. Let's see what happen going forward. He has potential, that's it. 3) Drohan has all of 25 innings pitched. That means nothing other than maybe he could be a decent pitcher.
  4. “Clutch” is having the ability to relax and do what you do normally. Ortiz probably had about the same average in big situations as he did in the 5th inning of a game in May. Other guys tense up and can’t do that. Clutch may not exist but anti-clutch certainly does. The current Sox have a lot of these guys. it also helps to have faith in your teammates; if I don’t don’t do it, the next guy will vs. I have to do it because the next guy won’t.
  5. He wasn’t the problem today. Whitlock needed to get one out and the Sox are out of that inning. He failed miserably.
  6. Problem is there if they had held Wong, there is absolutely no reason to expect he would have scored with any of the next 2-3 batters.
  7. I’d have no issue trading Whitlock. He’s been decent this year, but not as solid as in years past. Could be a free agent after this season as well (Sox have 2 team options).
  8. They hit him well when they faced him on Minnesota as well; in fact, it’s his only loss. Twins, for whatever reason, have our number this year.
  9. Game’s already started; it would be suspended if it were stopped. With this being the final game between these two teams, they will play 5 unless there’s a monsoon.
  10. Well at least my Irish made the NCAA Lacrosse finals again, do the afternoon wasn’t a total loss.
  11. No Narvaez here? He’s at least a threat to hit an extra base hit.
  12. Shoot, Masa couldn’t hit it hard enough to turn 2, otherwise I’d have been correct.
  13. Luckily, Breslow doesn’t control the past, because he sure as hell controls the present. Hopefully he won’t control the future.
  14. Doc Brown’s device didn’t work in 1955 and it doesn’t work now.
  15. Thought you were passing “on watching the guys today.” But you are correct in that observation; his swings look terrible and his body language says hes not exactly confident up there.
