    I’d have to watch it again, probably a few times more even. Was it Febles’ fault? Probably. Beni has to tag up, Febles should be able to move around to get a better view. Could be the 2B Ump moved & got in the way of view at the worst time possible. That particular Communication is something I hope they get right going forward. Lesson hopefuly learned and it didn’t cost us a win. Those are the best lessons learned imo.

    I think ERA along with WHIP gives one a pretty good idea what’s up, for a fan. A team front office might want to dig a lot deeper before they start tossing millions of dollars around. The people who vote on s*** should definitely look a lot deeper.

    Regardless of what some think, they’re still in our division and that makes them more important.

    Thing is, the only day off they’ve had from the 13 games straight was that Patriots Day rain-out. And I’m not sure if they used that monday as a travel day, if they did it’s not as big a day off as it may seem. Now off to play another 13 straight games... Would I ultimately like to see a better rest rotation for our regulars this time out? Yes. Yes, ... please(?). But if that doesn’t happen, we’re basically sacrificing the last one or two games at Texas (4 game set), have a rest/travel day, to take on the Yanks then the Jays later on that week. The Yanks and Blue Jays series are MUCH more important to us than the Texas series. That’s how I’m going to rationalize it.

    I’ve always had major issues with TWD, but I’ll wind up finishing it. AMC got rid of Rubicon for TWD which always pissed me off. AMC’s The Killing was fantastic.

    I know, but it could be a good thing. The more I look at the schedule, the more I don’t mind. We do have two division series this week, the more important one starting tomorrow @ Toronto. They’re 13-8 & only 4 games back and we have to face TOR 19 times this season (compared to only 6 games total vs Oak).

    If we won the first two I doubt I’d even care at all, but I like winning as many series as we can. They’ve played so well for Cora, I expect this to be a minor blip and back on track tuesday.

    They’re playing extremely well for him and I guess that’s all that really matters. I’d personally rather a bird in the hand than two in the bush. But maybe giving most of our bench a full game and getting them involved more will pay dividends too in the long run? Who knows? It’s only one game and we’ve built a serious lead in the standings to do this type of ... experimenting.

    We don’t need ballzy moves. We need our best players to play. He treated this like a spring training game. I’m not calling for Cora’s head, but I’m scratching mine.

    Being truthful here, with an off day tomorrow, I didn’t see any real need whatsoever to rest that many starters when still winning the series after being no-hit was a definitel possibility. I’m starting to think Cora was the one who needed a day off, not Betts, Hanram and Nunez.

    He’s an 11 post Troll, don’t feed him. We rested 3 of our top hitters all on the same day. We should’ve lost.

    The 7 Inning was the time to pinch hit, not 2 outs and 2 strikes top 9th. It was almost a slap in the face to see Mookie on the On-deck circle in the 9th. And the musical chairs in the OF is starting to get annoying. I have some questions for Cora. This game gave me pause.

    Yeah, I’m not a big fan of not PHingw/ Betts, HanRam, or Nunez available w/ 1 out & men in scoring position.

    Nothing wrong with that. Castiglione is fantastic. I probably listen to about 20-30 games a year on the radio between cookouts over the summer, camping/picnics, traveling etc. My brother is the opposite, strictly listens on the radio & may only watch 20-30 on tv. Every year is different for me. I think I might miss 25-30 games a year. And like some already mentioned, if I know we lost ahead of time, I can’t watch it or atleast not the whole thing. It’s just too masochistic for me. Unless we brought up a player and I just want to see that player hit or pitch even in a known losing effort. Mookie & Beni are good examples of that for me.

    First thought this morning: If this is what it’s gonna take to beat us, I say have at it. Good on Manaea! We clobbered him last year to the point that I actually felt a bit bad about it. Cold revenge. This is simply just good for baseball. I’d be remiss if I couldn’t nitpick just a little. That Beni play was kinda ******** for a few reasons. 1) A hitter running to 1B CAN use the grass area (It’s actualy preferred in order to prevent collisions) and doesn’t have to stay within that 1B baseline. Yes I know, it sounds ridiculous, but I’m not making this up. I remember a play a few years ago when one of our guys got called OUT for NOT using the grass area running to 1B. 2) Even if one disregards all that, Beni was within the 3 feet allowed to do what he did. This definitely could’ve changed the No-hitter, but I’m pretty sure we still would’ve lost, so.
