  1. It’s always something with this guy. Price is just a diva. Always has been.
  2. I wouldn’t put 1B defense over CF defense.
  3. Agreed. I was incredulous when Leon stepped to the plate with Beni and Swihart available.
  4. Kelly did the right thing by hitting Austin and when he did it, his next AB. That’s when you do it, not two games later. Good thing to see that the team learned this last year. Thanks Pedroia. Meanwhile, we’ll see if this clown Austin learns anything from this experience of being a f***ing punk, spiking our SS covering 2B, getting plunked for doing it, charging the mound and getting punched in the face at least twice by Kelly and leaving with a busted lip. Yanks virtually had the game won from the 1st Inning, why be an ******* and try to hurt someone just for doing their job? f*** these clowns.
  5. I’m starting to take it as a good thing that the only player getting continuously ragged-on in our lineup is JBJ. He’s our psyop decoy piñata.
  6. Nice try Stephencurry, but the situation cleary needs an animal sacrifice of some kind. Re-Read the handbook for Christ sake. Sigh. Now someone has to make it right. I can shuffle around my schedule but this undoubtedly ruins my afternoon plans.
  7. Obituary. Hehe. I had ‘World Demise’ at some point.
  8. Most runs given up on the young season. Biggest deficit on the season as well. Hmmm?
  9. Don’t worry S5, you’ll get blamed anyway for bringing up Iglesias even though you didn’t. Hahaha
  10. Gotta be honest, he was the first name that popped in MY head.
  11. Really hoping it was a cramp or muscle spasm. I couldn’t tell if it was his ankle or his shin at first. Later I couldn’t shake the vision of Dan Marino simply (nonchalantly even) walking off the field (wasn’t hit during the play. Usually had a great offensive line protecting him those days) and tore his Achilles. We’ll just have to wait and see. Sucks.
  12. Lol. This most likely explains my delight bordering on giddiness when I saw the Rays’ sporting their throwbacks. It’s not like they were of great design. That and I’m sure it pissed off 5 or so Floridian fundamentalists somewhere.
  13. Notin, I get you. Decent pitchers were available to be had and they were cheaper than usual before the season broke. But Our injured pitchers were close to being healthy. Sometimes it’s good to see what our farm has to offer. Plus we can always wait and see what kind of deals can be had at the deadline. We’re in good shape, I think.
  14. Well, I honestly did have s*** to do lol. I’ll watch the shortened game later when it’s available. But WOW!
  15. I hope it’s good news. It didn’t look like much.
  16. Wait... Sox f***ing won that game???!!!! I stopped watching when Bogey got hurt and it was 7-2. Holy s***
  17. I was thinking this too, would we really need to replace Pom? I rank Pom, Porcello, Erod, & Wright all pretty closely to each other. Porcello has up & down seasons. Erod has the best stuff and most talent, but health risk. I’ve always been fine with Wright as our 5th Starter. Pom is probably the most talented after ERod, but only a little more healthier. All these guys are question marks, but all of them have the capability to get on a roll and have a great year. Then you have Johnson, Velazquez. Could stretchout Workman for more depth. I’d file Beeks in with Groome under Not Ready Yet.
  18. All I’m really trying to do is introduce the universally accepted definition of random. I question your grasp on the definition. Are there Craps leagues for 5 year olds, like T-ball? No. Besides really bad parenting, on multiple levels, it would prove fruitless. No one can get better at rolling dice. Or flipping a coin. You can’t teach someone to win the lottery. Correct? Sports on the other hand, baseball in particular, one can learn and improve both physically and mentally. One can make better bets AND most importantly, actually “roll the dice better”. We’re really not that far apart on this as much as you might think, but I’m certainly not in 100% agreement with you. Not on frequency. Not on amount.
  19. Again, I might argue a batter that’s never played baseball before may not have developed the skill to even check his swing. In addition, why would a practiced and trained baseball player check his swing to begin with? If not for prior knowledge and experience at identifying a pitch he’d rather not commit to swinging at.
  20. With a man on 3B? No, I don’t.
  21. Again with the “so much randomness”. I definitely think randomness exists in baseball. However, I do question the amount and frequency of it being thrown about on here. Perceived Randomness is just as objectionable as Perceived Meaning. But yeah, it seems to be a hot topic, perhaps you should.
  22. If the pitcher’s goal was a strike-out, as opposed to inducing contact, then it wasn’t a “perfect” pitch to begin with. If the batter never played baseball before, sure, I would consider him extremely lucky. More likely he’s been playing since T-ball and is a “machine” with a baseball bat.
  23. Wouldn’t work. Rolling dice is much more random than baseball.
  24. Would this past off-season Free Agent market affect next year’s arbitration cases in ANY way?
  25. I was trying to look that up but I couldn’t find anything related to increases based on number of years of Arbitration itself. Is there a percentage or average raise increase? MLBTR was pretty accurate for JBJ last October, projecting $5.9M, but was a bit off on Bett’s projecting $8.2M. I have a feeling JBJ’s will be easier to predict than Bett’s.
