  1. Meh, I found it too much of a hassle and I hate the sound of a blender in the morning. Just throw a tablespoon of mct oil in your 2nd cup and you’re good to go.
  2. The thing I worry about w/ ERod is, is the affect of his mechanics and most notably, his knee going forward because of his ankle injury. Put a different way, I’d hate to see his ankle injury snowball into something else because of it. That’s my longterm worry. Not saying it will but... fingers crossed.
  3. I wasn’t too concerned about our #5 SP slot with our top 4 still healthy, but I am now ( #4 & #5 ) with Erod’s injury. We may have to make a move now. Which sucks. I was hoping Wright (& Pom) would’ve been making better progress than he has. Hopefully the AS break gives us time to reset the rotation and buy us a little time. Velazquez & Beeks need to step up in the meantime. I’d hold off on a BP move (Thornburg’s last 2 appearances were ok), and a 2B/IF move ( between Nunez, Holt, Lin, maybe even Swihart, we can piece something together there). Those could be considered luxury moves when compared to the backend of our rotation. It’s not a red alert yet... but it’s definitely a light shade of orange.
  4. I give Beni a lot of credit. I know hitting can be contagious but damn... Betts is a tough act to follow. Its like trying to headline for the Rolling Stones er something.
  5. I think it’s a minimum of 3 days. I doubt we see him until after the break.
  6. Eck said “thank god he can’t run”. lol
  7. I agree. If JD was simply a High HR-High SO hitter, maybe he wouldn’t have helped as much besides lengthening the lineup (which still helps). But he’s a more complete hitter than that. Adding him to a lineup with Betts, who is also a complete hitter; Beni and XB have also shown more times than not that when healthy or not in a slump, they’re at the very least more well-rounded hitters than the trending HR-or-Bust profile. We only have to look back to last season to know they can win without the longball. I think Cora helps the team’s overall disposition. They’re not playing for their grandpa anymore and they’re having more fun. I think he’s a good manager. Time will tell if he can be a great one. That’ll come down to how well they play in the post season. I mean, the main reason we changed managers at all is due to underwheming post season performances. They’ve been a good team otherwise. Our depth has been better than even I thought it’d be, and I was more optimistic than most I think(?). We’ve had a few injuries but hasn’t seemed to matter too much.
  8. Yeah. 1 of 5 for Swi to start, then eventually 2 of 5 I would guess. We’ve been getting some big leads lately. Maybe give Leon some late inning rest if at all possible if the runs keep coming. As long it’s not a complete shitshow. I expect Vaz to be a good teammate, get in his ear and help communicate some do’s & don’ts when he can.
  9. I seem to remember a lot of players over the years that were the same or worse talent-wise, utilized or not, on the active roster at some point in time. I’ve also forgetten more players like this than I remember as well. To me there’s always been enough talent there to justify keeping Swihart on, considering he was one of our better prospects and got rushed and then got hurt. I guess we could’ve upgraded our bench this season, in both name and/or salary with his spot. There’s no guarantee Cora gives said player any more playing time than he’s given Swihart either though. IDK... IMO, a lot of gnashing of teeth over, as one podcaster actually put it, The Swihart “Situation” and how they needed to “solve” the “Situation” and quick . {rolls eyes} Really? Give me a break. What was the hurry? I’m a Celtics fan too, but I don’t recall staying up nights worrying over Shane Larkins’ playing time. Jesus christ ... these kinda things usually sort themselves out.
  10. Only because he was out of options... maybe? I don’t over-value Swihart. But I also don’t over-value the 25th roster spot. I think that’s where my divide has been on the subject. I felt, not just posters on here, but many writers & bloggers and podcasters really hated or felt confused as to why Swihart was taking up the last roster spot at all. Way too much drama about the last spot on the team, for me anyway.
  11. Mazz said something useful & based in facts for once? Holy s***.
  12. I wasn’t talking about better competition in just the playoffs or championship games. I think, and it could very well be just my opinion, but even regular season... league-wide, better competition.
  13. May 27, Sale pitched 4.1 innings & gave up 6 ER. May 3, Price pitched 3.2 and gave up 7 ER. s*** happens. I wouldn’t be too quick to insist that one shitshow performance should define a guy’s season. I think there must be some extreme cherry-picking comfirmation bias when it comes to a knuckleballer it seems.
  14. Well, that was later on. The no brainer comment was in spring training i believe.
  15. Wow, I still can’t live that down? Go eat a dick, huh? Jesus Lol;)
  16. I give Jordan decisive bonus points for playing in an era when hand-checkng was still allowed. That’s the deciding factor for me. To me Lebron is a cross-between Karl Malone and Scottie Pippen playing in a league with no hand-checking. There are other factors to my opinion, but they’re less important. It’s not a great comparison either, position wise. To me, I considered Jordan 1, 2, and/or 3, while Lebron’s mainly a 3 and/or 4 (who doesn’t post-up nearly enough imo). That’s not to say Jordan NEVER posted-up or that Lebron NEVER ran offenseive plays acting as a guard. I’m just speaking in general. Predominantly. Other things I consider are: 1) I think the competion was overall greater when the Bulls were rattling off championships. 2) The Bulls were well coached, but they were never considered an exogenous group of superstars. Meaning, Jordan never had to “take his talents to S. Beach” as it were, to win a championship. 3) Who wears who’s number? ... yeah, I thought so. Anyways, Lebron is great. The greatest of his generation I would say.
  17. Lol!!! Just.. sigh... how dare you use that word. Hahaha
  18. I was going to post something similar early this week, due to the almost overwhelming criticism over Devers as of late. More on the defense side of things though. Would Moncada have been a better defensive 3Bman for us? I honestly don’t know, just a question to the board. It’s tough to interpret Moncada’s 2B stats on the CWS to hypothetical nonexistent 3B stats on our Sox. I guess my question would be, does anyone think Moncada would’ve made a worse 3Bman than 2Bman (his most natural position)? And would it have been that much different than what Devers has shown us to date?
  19. Not me either. It’s the only major trade I loved every aspect of from DD and really can’t find one single fault with. A+
  20. Because Brock Holt. No? Lol;)
  21. I’m just saying he’d make more sense. I’m sure it would take a lot, not sure we’d even have the pieces to make the trade. I’d have to look.
  22. 1) He’s a former SP. 2) He’s pitched 43 Innings. Hand has pitched 37 Innings. You’re saying 6 Innings is the camel-breaker? Really?
  23. So, The Celtics didn’t make for any drama and stuck with their pick. Texas A&M 6-10 Forward Robert Williams. I don’t know too much about him but he was projected to get drafted earlier than the 27th pick but teams think he “lacks work ethic”. I say we’ll see if that stands in Brad Stevens’ system. A paycheck may also help with a lack of work ethic as well. Overall, I guess I’m just glad they held onto Brown and Tatum.
