    It's improving. To deny that is just dumb. The team ERA in April was 5.04. the only team in baseball with an ERA over 5.00. Team ERA for May is 4.12. Not great, not even that good, but an improvement. And better than the Yankees team ERA for the month, BTW. And right now, Milwaukee, Toronto and Colorado have worse team ERAs. I get that it's fun to say, but "the worst in baseball" is no longer accurate.

    Who in their right mind schedules triple-headers? I was at the the Sox-Yankees double-header, in the middle of the Yankees 5 game sweep, in 2006. Game 2 was a 4+ hour 14-11 game. One long, continuous day of suck.

    You know Pumpsie. He didn't want to look silly. This is actually a good thing. Every time he predicts doom for the Sox, they go on a tear. He's the only guy I know that's wrong more often than Fred.

    The time off may have done Ortiz some good. He's 3-8 with 2 walks and no ks, in the last two games. I don't see them resorting to a platoon any time soon.

    Yup, everyone knew the rotation would be a crapshoot. Who knew they'd roll twos every time out. No one complained about the offense, except the odd move of signing two 3b. The defense on this road trip has been abysmal, with Sandoval's two errors yesterday being the coup de gras.
