  1. If you predict that the team with suck often enough, you're going to be right once in a while. I'm not sure why some folks think they deserve a medal for it.
  2. At the very least, Kimmi should start it and Va can post the lineups.
  3. VA Sox Fan and Kimmi need to figure out how to start simultaneous GTs again. If that mojo can make Clay not suck, it can certainly get us a West coast win.
  4. If bitching and whining is "generational", it skipped quite a few generations in my family. Perhaps it's because some old bastids can't remember when this franchise truly sucked.
  5. "It's not all about you, Kimmi." LOL From the guy that can't handle having his opinions questioned.
  6. Yeah, Leon and his .174 BA should be starting. Swihart is the least of this offense's problems.
  7. I know, I know! I should know better!
  8. Re The Miley extension: Sure, it's an ideal situation wait until 1/2 the season is over to try to sign a player to an extension. But, say you are said player and you get off to as great start. Are you going to tell your agent to hustle over the Sox FO and get that team friendly extension signed, or are you going to wait for free agency and an even bigger payday, because you're playing your ass off? Some players simply don't want to deal with contract talks during the season. It's a nice fantasy to say we need to wait, but it rarely works out that way. It's a gamble for both the player and the team. And it's not exactly a team busting contract.
  9. Right now, the offense is a problem. One would expect an offense, like this one is supposed to be, to help out once in a while.
  10. Well, that sucked. Bases loaded and they can't score one lousy run? These are the games where the improved offense is supposed to to be picking up the pitching staff. All they're doing now is putting more pressure on the pitchers. A series win would've been great, heading into a sucky road stretch. But, noooooo.... Bastids.
  11. The Sox FO were willing to pay more than 20x4 for Lester. The problem is, by the time they made this known to Lester's agent, other teams were already offering more. The Sox didn't screw up by outbidding the Cubs, but they did screw up by lowballing him with their initial offer.
  12. In other words, you have no idea. I'm glad the Sox don't operate like that.
  13. For someone who has had innumerable posts stating what Porcello isn't worth, I didn't think the question was that hard.
  14. I don't want any "possibilities", I want Porcello. How much should he cost?
  15. So, it's clear that you think 20/4 is a huge overpay for Porcello. If this has been asked before, my apologies, but how much would you give Porcello for 4 years?
  16. Orsillo had the perfect HR call on the second one. "Mookie Betts has a 2-0 lead over the Rays!" It was definitely the Mookie & Rick show last night. Textbook example of how to scatter hits. Longoria's boneheaded base running helped. Great work by Ogando and Koji too.
  17. Yup. It's real easy to say "get a good pitcher!".
  18. Fair enough. That's another three weeks.
  19. Benching Napoli is the perfect way to ensure he doesn't start hitting.
  20. Geez, what a bunch of Nancys... The Sox have played like like absolute crap and are still just 2 games behind. Playing in the worst division in the league gives them the luxury some other teams don't have, time. And, if you look at the division records, there isn't a team in the division that hasn't had a tailspin like the Sox are experiencing now. The Sox scored runs in bunches at the start of the season and I think they will again (providing Hanley is LF and not JBJ). The rotation has shown flashes of competence. More consistency is needed from them, not an impossible task. If the offense and defense are going to continue to take turns sucking, then, yeah, we're screwed. But, I don't see the New York Needle Jumpers running away with anything yet.
  21. So, what teams are already out of it and ready to deal QUALITY arms right now?
  22. And that was a catch, you dopes!
  23. Crappy fielding or not, we can't afford to lose Ramirez.
  24. Good job with the GT start. And a good start for Clay. Sox are gonna win this one.
