  1. We are all very hurt that you don't find our junk attractive. LOL
  2. You're not nearly smart enough to speak for anyone else. Everyone has been saying they'd trade for help at the deadline, if they could stay in contention in the first half. Are you an idiot, or just a dick? Or both?
  3. The division is average. with a decent month of May, they'd be in the thick of things. They didn't need to "light the world aflame". No team in the AL East played above .500 ball for the entire month. "Average" would've done the trick, but they were much worse than that.
  4. Profiles in courage. Way to go out on a limb....
  5. Only Hamels fits the "deal from areas of strength to acquire pitching" philosophy, as stated previously. I'm convinced that Lackey had had enough of Boston and was willing to sit out, rather than play for $500 grand for the Sox. They royally screwed up the Lester negotiations, but it doesn't have much to do with what they should have done this off season. They weren't going to give Scherzer 7 years at age 30. Shields was possible, but it's debatable that he's a #1/#2. Hey! Maybe the Padres will deal him to us! It'll be fun around here, the first time he gives up 7 runs in 4 innings
  6. I don't either! Women should be able to go shirtless where ever guys can.
  7. Well, the beaches are topless. LOL But, the resorts are mostly filled with Europeans and Canadians. And most of the topless women are the ones you'd rather not see topless.
  8. It's all some of these dopes have to work with. They talk a good game about wanting civil discussion, but that's only as long as you agree with them.
  9. It's not just a question of body type. Ortiz has had a history of lower leg issues. Sure, he could re injure himself just DHing, but you're doubling the chances of an injury by playing him at 1st. As for his age, how many players his age have switched from DH to a position? Guys his age move from a position to DH, not the other way around.
  10. That's the nature of baseball. It's individual accomplishments wrapped up in a team sport. Keeping Ortiz healthy is a selfish act that benefits the Sox. Fans are like females; they say they want honesty, but just try giving it to them on a daily basis!
  11. This ^
  12. I blame interleague play. That was one reason to watch the ASG, to see NL guys you wouldn't normally get to watch.
  13. The Riu resort in Puerto Plata was very nice. And they had guided tours to the city and the boonies, if you wanted. I imagine most of the resorts do the same.
  14. About all it says about the Sox is that our best player is injured.
  15. Only 5 hits in the last two weeks?
  16. Interesting... I wonder if there's a subtle "it's my day off" thing going on with some rotating DH's.
  17. Yup, he got a strike out and some key ground outs when he needed them. Hopefully, last night will give him a bit of a confidence boost. The Sox need him to be at least adequate, if they're going to make a run.
  18. Admit it. You're reason Theo moved to Illinois!
  19. Porcello wasn't great last night, but it was a step in the right direction.
  20. Three years of Middlebrooks is what they saw....
  21. From an WEEI article: "The 39-year-old doesn’t look as comfortable in the field as he once did. For his career, Ortiz has racked up a more than respectable .990 career fielding percentage. But now, Ortiz looks increasingly uncomfortable in this role, resorting to icing his ankles while awaiting his turn to bat in Wednesday’s win over the Marlins." If Ortiz is "bitching", it appears that he has a legitimate reason to. Anyone think playing him at first full time and perhaps losing him to a leg injury, during the second half is a good thing?
  22. No worries! The Sox could be cruising into the playoffs in Sept and there will still be plenty of "problems" to discuss.
  23. Yup, and Iglesias was 8 years younger and played two years in the minors. Rusney has been a minor disappointment in a season full of them.
