    Not a great start for Buchholz, but I liked that he fought back and got out of the bases loaded jam. The Buchholz of earlier this year would have folded and given up 4 more runs.

    Is anyone complaining about Ortiz scoring yesterday? It's called aggressive base running. You put pressure on the opposing defense and hope they can't make the play. They made the play on Napoli, they didn't on Ortiz. That's how it works.

    There's a general base running stat called UBR. In 2012 the blue Jays were rated at 0.2, 0 being average. This year, the Sox are -3.0, good for 26th out of 30 teams. So, I'm not sure the Sox crappy baserunning can all be attributed to Butterfield. Yesterday certainly didn't help. Sending Napoli probably wasn't the smartest play, but with two out and the way this team has been hitting, I can't call it a totally boneheaded move.

    it';s enough to make you pull your hair out. The division is there for the taking. The pitching is improving but they can't hit. And, just for fun, let's throw in some abysmal defense. It's like they're trying to be unwatchable on purpose!
