  1. Yup, between Pomeranz's performance last night and what the Cubs gave up for Chapman, I'm feeling better about it. Makes it tough for the Sox to get any more BP help though. Kelly needs to get his head on straight and help out the bullpen.
  2. Yeah, I don't see the Sox doing much more. The cost of rentals is getting crazy.
  3. You know how it works, Kimmi. One can no longer say Theo sucks at his job, so the reasoning has to be switched to he's an idiot for leaving.
  4. So he did what any other mature, well adjusted person would do, go all Norman Bates on every uni in the clubhouse. No thanks.
  5. "Trade Pedroia. Fire Farrell. Put Buchholz on waivers." That would fix everything!
  6. Yup, the more Sale acts up, the less inclined I am to want the Sox to go after him. The cost is too high for someone that may disrupt what seems to be a good clubhouse.
  7. I'm hoping they make a deal with an NL West team. I don't want to see him pitching for us OR against us.
  8. That only happens to old pitchers.
  9. I'm surprised to see you say that. It'll gut the farm.
  10. Oh come on! Just pretend!
  11. May as well leave him on the DL. He's overused and done.
  12. Yup. There's more upside to E-Rod.
  13. Time to move this to the Dead Horse thread...
  14. Yup, the Twins are just what the Sox need. The rest of the rotation needs to go 6+ IPs this weekend.
  15. Yeah, that's not happening. But, they're not getting any top prospects either. I hope...
  16. He's a Red sox pitcher now. I'm giving him the rest of the season before I get on him, because, frankly, what are the alternatives? It really doesn't matter if Espinoza is a star or a bust, it all depends on Pomeranz, IMO.
  17. That HR was just perfect! Much better than charging the mound. I'm hoping Pomeranz was still somewhat nervous and lost a little focus after getting run support. Don't score more than 4 for him next time guys!
  18. People would've flipped because we didn't get a "proven starter".
  19. That's what the Sox are betting on. I hope they're right. But, it ignores the fact he's never pitched more than 100 innings until this year. There's no doubt he makes the team better. Will he still make the team better after anoth 70 innings? Again, I hope the Sox are right. The rest can continue with the moronic "Pomeranz sucks" posts.
  20. I'm basing my opinion on what Pomeranz was traded for 7 months ago, not 'proposed' trades.
  21. Based on what other trade?
  22. That's why I didn't say it was a bad trade. One more time, it's possible for it to be an acceptable trade and say it was an overpay.
  23. Yup, same here. It's not difficult, if Pomeranz pitches as well as he did in the first half of the season for SD for the rest of this year and for the length of his contract, it'll be a good deal. If he struggles in Fenway, or hits the wall and we have to rest him in Sept or, even worse, in Oct, then the Sox got screwed.
