  1. Keep your fingers crossed. I got to see him hit one out in a win against the Rays last month and I'm hoping to see him one last time in Sept. It would suck for Ortiz and the fans if this were it for him.
  2. I hope he's in the lineup for you.
  3. The difference was that Wright can probly run without grimacing.
  4. It doesn't take a player that steals 30 bags a year to know you don't take a big lead and draw the pitchers attention. Wright wasn't going anywhere until there was contact and then he has to run until he's out. Any player with any level of experience should be able to handle that. Wright was dumb for taking more than one step off the bag and Blanton was a dick for throwing over there.
  5. No worries, I'm plenty pissed about the bullpen puking all over themselves too. There isn't one guy in there that can be trusted to come in with men on and get the job done and that includes our "closer".
  6. But, they played great for him last year!
  7. True. But, only if he's hitting as well or better than the other two. I like the kid, but that's asking a lot.
  8. My coffee has gotten cold. I blame Farrell.
  9. I don't think I'd be switching Young in for JBJ of Mookie all that much. Move them around and insert Young if they need a day, but I wouldn't make a habit of it.
  10. Yup, platooning with Young makes sense.
  11. They had bases loaded with less than 2 out on 3 different occasions last night, if I recall correctly. That resulted in a whopping 2 runs. Yup, I'd call that bad timing.
  12. Nope, just half dead.
  13. Last night's game was pathetic. The Sox should've lit up the parade of bullpen guys Giradi had to run out there.
  14. I'm hoping Price has a better career with the Sox than 3 really good years and three mediocre ones. Maybe my expectations are too high.
  15. They can't demote Benintendi, they're desperate.
  16. Agree.
  17. Porcello was at 110 pitches last night. No way he was going back out there. But, I agree, it would've been much easier to watch if he had.
  18. Just how old do you think the guy is? It's not like there's a ten year career to look at.
  19. Good luck with that...
  20. Evidently, some folks can't grasp that concept. It probably would've been nice if Beni has some more time in the minors. Injuries and not getting Beltran helped them decide to give the kid a try. Nothing "desperate", "panicky" or whatever other dumb adverb one feels the need to use, about it.
  21. Makes sense.
  22. Yup, his current BABIP isn't going to last, but I'll take .260 from a good defensive catcher all day. I'm hoping Vazquez can get there as well. I enjoy watching him play.
  23. If he were 30 or older, I'd say it's doubtful. I think Leon is still young enough to have figured out what he was missing previously. Could be someone in the Sox org really helped him out.
  24. Benintendi had been in Portland a little over a month when that article was written.
  25. Well, TJ surgery helped quite a bit. I don't think you can really compare the two. There doesn't seem to be anything physically wrong with Price, other than he's getting older.
