  1. Repeatedly beating posters over something that was said last year is fine, but heaven forbid someone criticize what was said in yesterday's game thread. This place is weird, sometimes.
  2. Even Price??? Someone is going to be pissed.
  3. Nope, poeple making stuff up, just to beat a dead horse, makes me frustrated. Sue me.
  4. He's the worst pitcher in the history of pitching. They should have shot him at sunrise.
  5. I was referring to MVP's post. Yes, I know you don't like my way of a making point. I suspect because it's so much like your own. Tough s***.
  6. Making s*** up about what others have said about Buchholz is whining. You usually have a big problem with people making s*** up. I guess it depends on who it is. Fans were willing to give Buchholz one more shot this season and he blew it. No one thinks he's going to get better. No one wants him back next year. Most fans with a brain realize Buchholz would've been in the pen in May, if there were a viable alternative.
  7. That's what you get for reading Tomase.
  8. Jesus, I want buchholz gone just to shut you up.
  9. That, or he's getting a bit tired. He was fine until the 6th and he was over 100 pitches. I hope he get's some rest at the break. I'd be happy if he didn't pitch in the ASG.
  10. I have no idea. Either way, he has to try harder.
  11. But just one! I hear you're a rowdy drunk.
  12. I'm sure he'd let you have a wine cooler.
  13. "Farrell is a slow learner. " "Why does Farrell keep using Kimbrel stupidly? Why? " Doesn't sound like criticism of Kimbrel to me. But, I'm sure there will be creative rationalizations to come. If Kimbrel can only be used in clean "save" innings, it further hamstrings a pen that's dealing with the loss of Smith and the inconsistencies of Koji and Taz. If I'm Farrell, I tell Kimbrel that he's going to keep putting him out there in close or tie games and he'd best start working to figure it out.
  14. I think we need a written copy.
  15. Yup. That's why I stay away from it. Sitting in a bar with half-drunk fans is a lousy experience.
  16. If you need to exaggerate to prove a point, you don't have one. They haven't played sloppy for "several weeks" it's been two weeks at the most. I can just as easily say that the it's a result of the pitching staff spotting the opposing team 2-3 run at the start of every game is causing the team to press, offensively and defensively. That's just as plausible as this "poor morale" nonsense. If the players have poor morale, it's because they're constantly playing from behind. You've been reading too many "Culture of Losing" posts from Fred.
  17. Yup, E-rod's setback was a big disappointment. After last year, I was hoping he'd be a solid middle rotation guy. Right now, he looks lost out there.
  18. I agree. I had no problem giving Price some slack in April. The offense was kicking ass and the pitching staff, as a whole, was allowed to skate some. The offense has fallen off a lot since then. No one expected them to hit like they did the first two months, but they're downright mediocre right now. It's time for the good pitchers on the staff to pick it up a little. That's goes double for the guy that felt he deserved to be paid like the best pitcher in baseball. I'm done waiting for the guy to "adjust". I wasn't crazy about the contract in the first place and expected it to be a drag on the team, the last 2 or 3 years. I'm disappointed that the Sox can't count on him to stop a team slide when they need it most, in his first year.
  19. How much time do you think this team has, before they're in serious trouble, standings-wise?
  20. How about you bums hit a mediocre pitcher for a change. Get it done!
  21. Some fans always want something stupid done, in April or May. He had great numbers vs leftys last year. There was no reason to think he wouldn't do the same this year. Can't say I always agreed with Farrell on Young's usage early in the season, but he did bat better vs righties this year than. Farrell probably saw some improvement in that area and decided to get him some at bats vs righties. Hardly a hanging offense.
  22. In general, buyers usually trade prospects to aquire roster improvements. Sellers usually trade major leaguers to restock the minors. Semantics, really.
  23. Right, because obtaining a decent pitcher doesn't require that other team cooperate, or that the aquired pitcher will perform after said trade. It's all within the Red Sox' control. They just need to snap their fingers. I don't understand why it hasn't happened already. And you keep suggesting I think getting rotation help is irrelevant. You're wrong. It's not an either/or situation.
