  1. Yup, no lead is safe with the current crew in the bullpen.
  2. Some players don't care and some are more comfortable in certain spots than others. I doubt there are a lot of players what would like being shuffled on a near-nightly basis. That's a lot of moving around. Ball players, in general, are creatures of habit and routine.
  3. Yup, he's going to be an expensive back up, unless they can unload him. Sounded like they tried before the deadline.
  4. Good point. With Hanley being hot & cold, it's been easier to pitch around Ortiz. That's not the sole reason Ortiz has been slumping, but it hasn't helped any. He had quite a few 0fers the last two weeks before the lineup change.
  5. Just agree with them ya big meanie!
  6. 5 years is one long-ass bridge.
  7. As long as he's not closing again, I'm good with it.
  8. He had a career year for the Sox in '04. The Sox got him at just the right time.
  9. Touchy, touchy... ,lol Like a few others here, you can dish it but can't take it.
  10. Yup, if there's anyone that could use a change in lineup position, it might be Xander. He's really had a rough time this month.
  11. Were you thinking we'd need more than 8 runs because Price was pitching? LOL
  12. Yup, between Price and the rain delay, the Sox were able to keep the bullpen IN the bullpen. Hopefully, everyone got enough rest for today's game.
  13. I blame Farrell for this win streak.
  14. Price got it done! If he can get on a consistent roll, along with the rest of the rotation, this will be a fun stretch run!
  15. "And what about that Washington Post report stating that Pap was blasting the “Vote for Trump” anthem in the clubhouse? Hey, nothing wrong with Pap supporting the candidate of his choice." Riiight, Buck... Pretty much sums up the issue that Buckley has with Papelbon.
  16. If it's just a case of paying the remainer of his salary, it's worth a shot. The worst thing that can happen is the Sox also have to release him. If there are other options to improve the bullpen, I don't know what they may be.
  17. I don't think having a slow Ortiz in front of Mookie is that big of a deal. With the OPS numbers the both of them are putting up, it just as likely they'll get extra base hits. If Mookie were simply a singles hitter, it might be an issue.
  18. Betts looks like an elite hitter, no matter where he is in the lineup! Feel free to pat yourself on the back. No one else will.
  19. No, Bundy's been great and against some very good teams. All the more reason for Price to go out and dominate from the start, with no 1st or 2nd inning HRs, while "settling in". Looks to be a low scoring game.
  20. They really need to do something with the bullpen. And I don't want to give up more prospect to fix it. i think Papelbon is worth a look, as long as he knows ahead of time what his role is going to be. All he would cost is money. He can't be any worse than Abad.
  21. Yup, he's been much better since his stinker against the Angels. His IP totals still worry me, but hopefully, he's healthy enough to keep it going. If E-Rod is out for any length of time, the Sox are going to need Pomeranz to consistently pitch well.
  22. It'd be great if the Sox could move into a tie with the Jays! It's a good time for the Sox to hit the road. Both the O's and Tigers have been so-so in the last couple of weeks. More than just pitching well, Price needs to go deep into the game and give the pen a break. So, no slow starts and 25 pitch innings!
