  1. The point of the forums for some is to prove how much smarter they are than the the folks who play the game for a living. Over and over and over....
  2. Obviously, they all would've gotten hurt.
  3. Agreed. He knows Wright isn't going anywhere. He just wanted to see him panic, and Wright obliged. And the "he was trying to win" argument is stupid. If he were really trying to win, he would've thrown it. He simply wanted to see Wright jump a little, a dick move.
  4. Yup, pretty sure Wright has participated in enough games to know the difference between a step off the bag and a big lead. He's got only himself to blame.
  5. I find that hard to believe. Farrell is incompetent.
  6. I blame Farrell for this win.
  7. With two out, all you need to know is run until the 3b coach tells you to stop. Wright was dumb for wandering so far off the bag.
  8. Yup, Farrel should have known Wright would handle himself like a little leaguer out there.
  9. He's either in good enough shape to start, or he's be back in Ft Meyers. They're not going to waste a roster spot on him, if he's unable to play.
  10. It's easy for the fans to just write off 60 mil. Not so much for the FO.
  11. If Pablo manages to lose the weight and work to get back into game shape, I'd say that's deserving of another shot at the position. To say he's not to be allowed a shot is dumb.
  12. Guess he should've stayed out.
  13. Judging by the look on his face, Greinke hasn't ether.
  14. Yup, the Sox have given up enough, with uneven results. Let's see where the team is in the off season and go from there.
  15. The only hope is that relief pitchers can regain effectiveness as fast as they seem to lose it. Pitchers are flakey to begin with. Releif pitchers are the flakiest. But, you're right. If they don't, the Sox are screwed.
  16. Farrell left for medical reasons. He wasn't fired. I think that makes a difference. I think fear of getting traded in the off-season by the new Pres of Baseball Ops could've been just as big a motivator for the players last year as removing the manager.
  17. Yup, if the Sox don't make the playoffs, i don't have a problem with JF getting his walking papers. But, to do it now, when they're just a few games out of first would be just stupid. I'm sure it'll make some fans feel better, but it wont do much for the team.
  18. Definitely #1. That game seemed to turn the season around for the '04 Sox.
  19. He's going to pitch a lot of inning these last two months. I don't think it's going to end well.
  20. Yup, he could resurrect Babe ruth and the guy would GIDP with bases loaded.
  21. But, but he was an All Star, Moon!
  22. I'm in. The bullpen should all go out as a group, get shitfaced and punch each other. Get it out of their systems before the next road trip. The f***ers can start by sweeping the D-Backs.
  23. Ok, so who should've gone in the game instead of Zeigler last night? Barnes? Taz? Farrell has made some dumb moves, but it's tough to "put players in a position to suceed" (gee, I hope I got that right...) when none of them seem to know how to do that.
  24. Hopefully, it's because they know neither injury is serious.
