  1. http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/MLB/2016-pitching-leaders.shtml So, which number impress you? Price is #1 hits. That awesome! #10 in HRs! Woohoo! Nowhere to be seen in the lists for: WAR ERA WHIP True that Price is no Pedro. I don't expect him to be. I do expect him to be better than 20 other pitchers in the majors. If those expectations are too high for you, you and the Price worshipers will have to find some way to get over it.
  2. I'd be surprised if that happens. But, who knows what the commish could decide to do. I'd love to send Pomeranz back to SD and get Espinoza back.
  3. Unfortunately, Moon is correct. Pomeranz isn't pitching in the post season so we're stuck with Price. Just hope he's not pitching in any "must win" games.
  4. It wasn't Price's fault, Slasher. It was that damned short porch!
  5. I'm guessing he'll need more than a week off. Hopefully, the Sox pursue additional compensation in the off season, after getting ripped off by SD.
  6. Good thing we wont be facing the Yankees in the playoffs. Price has a 7. something ERA against them Way to step up and clinch the division Price.
  7. Someone left their sense of humor at home today.
  8. Excellent! Porcello has earned it.
  9. Particularly for the Sox. They've got the best road record in the AL.
  10. Solid prediction! If it doesn't happen, it's all your fault!
  11. Good read, thanks.
  12. Pretty sure he didn't pick them to win the division either.
  13. I've hated the Yankees since '78 and it's not going away anytime soon. The O's and Rays are annoying when we have to play them, but I don't give them much thought otherwise.
  14. To be accurate, the Yankees never got into a playoff spot. They did to within one game of the second spot a couple of weeks ago.
  15. I blame Farrell for the 4 game division lead.
  16. I've given up trying to figure out bullpens. I will say Koji has been a big boost.
  17. That made me laugh this morning, thanks!
  18. Exactly. Because he goes by the "numbers" and not his "feel for the game".
  19. You and Slasher are right. There doesn't seem to be another AL team with a better rotation. Cleveland qualified until the injuries hit them. Hopefully, Price decides he had enough of sucking in the postseason. How is Texas in first place with a team ERA of 4.45???
  20. I think "Joe Binder" is my favorite nick name for Girardi.
  21. Anyone else a bit concerned about the rotation, heading into the playoffs? I expect Porcello to be solid, but Price has a not-so-stellar postseason record. E-Rod and Buchholz have been consistently inconsistent. I think Pomeranz has hit a wall, due to his IP. It'd be nice to see if Wright can give us some meaningful innings.
  22. Yup, you were the only one...
  23. Well, if the Sox go deep into the playoffs, he's not going anywhere. Bad in game manager or not, the Sox play hard for the guy.
  24. I wish I knew what Tazawa's issues are now. I just hope there are more chances for Taz to work in low pressure situations. That's the only way he's going to be anywhere near useful next month.
