  1. No worries. That wont happen until October.
  2. Yup, the addition of Sale takes a lot of the sting out of the Price news. Hopefully, it's not a TJ problem. I want Price out there pitching. If he's not, it lessens the chance he opts out at the end of next season.
  3. I think it's because it doesn't work as much as we'd like to think it would.
  4. Sounds like bunting for a hit against a major league pitcher is a piece of cake! Amazing they don't do it more often.
  5. Position players are one thing, pitchers are another. I don't think most pitchers have built up the arm strength to pitch full out in March. It didn't work out so well for Dice-K.
  6. Agree. Nobody is replacing Papi. With the addition of Sale, they don't have to. They now have the pitching to shut down a lot of opposing offenses.
  7. Typical ball player!
  8. It's got nothing to do with his feelings, Moon.
  9. The Sox will be a good team, whether Pablo plays or not. The question is, would the Sox be a better team with a platoon at 3b or a consistently producing Pablo?
  10. It would be interesting if he gave a straight answer. But, like most atheletes, you know that's not going to happen.
  11. Yup, the best Rex Sox team will have Pablo at 3b the majority of games.
  12. Don't get me wrong, what the Pats did in that game was unbelievable. But, the Falcons certainly helped them out in the 4th quarter. I think Kimmi has the right idea. There are certainly clutch plays and clutch moments. But, I don't think "clutch" is definable ability, limited to a few players. Most good players have clutch moments. Great players have a lot of them.
  13. You see momentum, I see a team with a defense that was worn out. Not to mention some moronic coaching decisions.
  14. Considering his contract, it's bad. If they have to platoon him that much, it'll be very disappointing.
  15. If Pablo is reduced to platooning with Rutledge, after all the work he has put in to lose weight, that's a disaster.
  16. Yup, I think everyone sees Eduardo's potential. He just hasn't been consistent enough yet.
  17. Perhaps there's a list of acceptable topics. There are still posts about how much Ben C sucked, but don't talk about the job the current GM is doing! LOL You can't make this s*** up...
  18. Now that would be funny! Like Notin said earlier, the Sale trade made Clay expendable. I don't see how the Sox were going to manage 7 major league starters. Were they supposed to have two long relievers, stash Rodriguez in Pawtucket? They did what needed to be done to get well under the tax limit and free up a spot for E-rod. I always liked Buchholz, but he's probably better off with a change of scenery.
  19. I'm sure DD will have no problem restocking the farm system. Although he has no history of doing so. Even though most of the scouting dept has defected, how tough can it be?
  20. Yup. Is there a "unified voice" because DD is in charge, or because Larry is not? As for DD putting the Tigers in position to win '13, I'm not buying it. Everyone who watches baseball knew the Tigers had a weak bullpen and the Sox made them pay the price. It had nothing to do with a lack of execution by a talented bullpen.
  21. Agreed. But, what's done is done. We may as well sit back and watch the Sox be competitive, while it lasts. The real test for DD will be seeing which of the core of young Sox players he can hang on to, in the next 3 to 4 years. Can't wait for the "Why don't we have any major league ready players" whine to kick in. DD has built a great team, on paper. But he hasn't won s*** yet. I'm hoping Sale takes less time to "settle in" than Price and Porcello have.
  22. Yup, in spite of his disappointing first season, Porcello has demonstrated why the extension was a good move by Cherrington. I'm still not convinced Porcello wasn't injured for a good part of 2015. He was very good after coming off the DL.
  23. I like Alex Cora. Seems like a smart dude.
