Which is why Gold Glove awards aren't all they're cracked up to be. Moreland hasn't been bad at 1st, but it's not good enough to offset his offense (or lack thereof).

Define "clean". I've see him pick some tough throws, but I couldn't tell you if they were clean, dirty or just a little smudged.

Even Barnes doesn't know why his splits are so different. I read an article on WEEI about it. "I don't know. I honestly don't know," said Barnes regarding the reason for his splits. "If I could tell you I would be able to fix it. Maybe it's a comfort thing. Maybe it's being so used to this mound because you're throwing on it so much more. I don't know. It's always been reversed. I'm my own worse enemy." Hopefully, he gets it figured out soon.

Who would that be? I don't recall anyone saying they know exactly what the Sox want to spend in any given year. People make their best guessimate, based on infomation available. People think they want to stay under the luxury tax limit this year, simply because it makes sense to do so. Silly suggestions, I know...

Sale didn't look so good in his last outing against the Guardians. After last October, Price and Porcello inspire zero confidence against any team with a decent offense. With any luck, Price will still be on the DL then. I'd rather face Houston than the Tribe this fall. -

Ok, if the Sox owners don't care that they go over the luxury tax limit this year, why haven't they? One can stamp their feet and hold their breath until they turn blue, but it doesn't change the fact that the Sox do indeed have a budget of some sort. If the Sox were struggling and fighting the Jays for fourth place in the division, maybe then I'd care about one more move the Sox didn't make over the winter. I don't care about how much money Henry blows on players, but he obviously does.

Yup, after taking 2-3 from the Yankees, this loss doesn't bother me much. It does remind me that a playoff series vs the Tribe isn't going to be easy. They just need to kick the crap out of the Cards.
