  1. Clay is on a mission to make your baseball life a living nightmare.
  2. Agreed.
  3. I've heard that Pedroia is the first player at the park on most days. He absolutely loves the game. I can't imagine him not staying in the game after he retires as a player.
  4. Pablo needs to prove that he is healthy and can play before any GM will take him without the Sox eating most of his contract. IMO, the best case scenario would be that Pablo reports to camp next year in good shape, and becomes our starting 3B. He mans the position effectively for 2-3 months and recoups some of his value, at the same time giving Moncada more time to learn 3B. Then he can be traded midseason.
  5. LOL Perhaps. I don't really give Farrell credit for anticipating that catch, but IMO, this is the type of thing that Farrell would be blamed for if things didn't go our way.
  6. For the most part, I am not a fan of sac bunting, but it does have its place, as does bunting for a hit. You're right, it can be a valuable weapon and it should be taught and practiced. And as was pointed out by another poster, pitchers should practice running the bases. These are basic skills that all baseball players should be able to do, IMO.
  7. The hope is that by the time the youngsters we have now are ready for FA, there is a new wave of youngsters ready to step in for the ones that we can't retain.
  8. None of them. Didn't mean to imply that. I was thinking more of some young guys on other teams. Our young guys are all awesome!!!
  9. Dude has been a beast. Gotta give credit where credit is due. I'm sure he, and the other youngsters, have made watching the Yankees fun again. And the team is still hanging around....
  10. I would like to add that it's refreshing to see how unassuming and level headed Benintendi appears to be.
  11. It is a legitimate concern, and the fact that Beni is playing so well does not negate that concern. I was against the idea, but I am now thrilled that the FO did it.
  12. Pinch running for Young turned out to be a great move, BTW, knowing that JBJ would go to center and Benintendi would move to left. Does Young make that catch on the HR ball? Being a left-handed glove, probably not. Good job Farrell.
  13. IMO, rarely is it a good idea to bunt with a man on 1st. And by rarely, I mean almost never.
  14. Price pitched like the guy we all thought we were getting. Great job! The defense brought it as well. Young made a great play and what a catch by the youngster! Nice way to start the series!
  15. I 100% agree with you on Papelbon. I've heard the name Greg Holland mentioned recently. Apparently he's been rehabbing from TJS and should be ready to take the mound soon. Something to keep an eye on, anyway. Also, the news on Koji has been encouraging. He may be able to help us down the stretch.
  16. I feel your pain bosoxmal. I will be suffering right along with you.
  17. Ha. It certainly wouldn't be the first time I've done it and it certainly won't be the last.
  18. His requirement of an extra year is pretty silly, if you ask me. I can't imagine any team agreeing to that, but stranger things have happened. Either way, I agree with you and Emp that it's probably a no go.
  19. Despite the low ERA, Snell allows a lot of base runners. I don't remember the exact number, but his WHIP is not good. The offense needs to find a way to not squander their opportunities when they get some runners on base.
  20. Price and the offense need to bring it tonight. WIN! Go Sox!
