One thing that often bothers me is when one reliever comes into the game, has a dominant inning with very few pitches, then is replaced by another reliever the next inning, who may or may not get the job done. I wish the manager (not just Cora) would let a reliever pitch a 2nd inning when the first one was so easy.

My focus with managers has always been the off field stuff, not the in game decisions. Cora has found a way to get his players to buy into everything he is selling. The players know that Cora has their backs. As one of the players said, they will jump through hoops for Cora. Also, I think that Roenicke is an excellent complement to Cora.

Very good post Roy. The offense was going to be better this year, even without the additions of Cora and JD. That said, I believe that Cora's more aggressive philosophy at the plate is part of the improvement. Farrell doesn't deserve a lot of the criticism that he received. That said, it does appear that Farrell was perhaps putting some undue stress on the players by focusing too much on their daily numbers. I think last year's group was trying too hard. Cora seems to have the players behind him 100%. I liked his signing from the get go.

That's true, but he's the Yankees 8th or 9th pitcher on their totem pole. He did his job for the Yankees, under an extreme amount of pressure. He deserves some credit.

Give me some credit Moon. I understand what regression means. It's almost like I posted something very similar before about coin flips. Oh wait, I did. I am not talking about a slide to the point of evening things out. I am talking about the Mariners' slide in the division race, which was completely expected.

From when he reaches free agency? Yikes, that makes me shudder. Beyond just the years, the $35 million AAV makes me shudder as well.

I think most Red Sox fans would take the chance on Mookie, and I can understand why they feel that way. I think the most I would go is an 8 year extension from now, meaning 6 years from when he becomes a free agent. And even that is more than I'd prefer.

One of my favorite moments is when Mookie was positioned almost in CF with Mauer (I believe) was at bat. The amount of open space in right field was crazy. Mauer hit the ball right at Mookie. He literally did not have to move. Then Mookie takes out his cheat card and starts waving it around. Good stuff.

I really don't think it was a lack of fire and desire as much as it was the guys just weren't having fun like they are this year. I don't think they ever lacked the desire. Either way, those of you who were saying that there were problems with Farrell appear to be right.

Adams pitched pretty decently, considering. Too bad. I was really hoping we'd pound him. Regardless, Eovaldi pitched a great game which bodes well for us going down the stretch and into the playoffs.
