I am wondering what David Price is thinking. After the initial early outbreaks, MLB has gone 58 (I believe) straight days without a positive test. You really have to give MLB and the players credit for taking the protocols seriously after it looked like the season would not last 2 weeks.
But, I digress. Price could be pitching in and winning a WS Championship with his team. He says that he is at peace with his decision, but a part of him has to be feeling that he wishes he were playing.
I would have to agree with this. Too bad, I was really pulling for the Braves.
Now I'm pulling for the Dodgers, whom I have nothing against (Go Dave Roberts), except I'm already sick of all the Mookie articles.
I wouldn't sign him for big money, but I don't think his peripherals are as bad as you make them out to be. Didi's hard hit % and exit velocity are often in the bottom 5% or so of the league.
I was happy when the Yankees didn't re-sign Didi last offseason.
When Sanchez first came up, I was thinking that he would be a thorn in our sides for a long time. He has not lived up to expectations.
Yeah, I was going to post how stress free and enjoyable a Game 7 is when your team is not in it. LOL
As far as teams choking versus the achievements of the winning team, I think it's a combination of both.
Yes. I don't disagree with that. I think the right deadline moves are very important.
I was responding to the line about Yankees fans wanting Cashman gone due to the lack of postseason success.
Teixeira is saying that the Yankees should bring Didi back. Makes a lot of sense.
That said, I hope the Yankees sign DJ to a long and expensive contract.
The Rays were already pressing in Games 5 and 6, IMO. I didn't think it would be possible for the Astros to come back, but now, I have to give them the edge.
I don't like either team, but regardless, great October baseball.
The NL series as well.
The playoffs are just too much of a crap shoot. It doesn't matter how great a GM is, or how great a team he puts together. A WS Championship is far from guaranteed, even for a 105 win team. The goal is to have a team that is a contender year in and year out.
I don't have anything against the Dodgers or LA teams. That said, I want the Braves to win because 1) they are one of my favorite teams outside of the Sox, and 2) I really don't want to hear the 'we should have signed Mookie' arguments all offseason, and the Dodgers winning it all will certainly add fuel to that fire.
