  1. Yes, yes, and yes. Although I didn't want the Rays to win either. I am happy for Vin Scully, for Kershaw, and for Dave Roberts. Probably a few others, among whom is not Mookie.
  2. It's a great point to make.
  3. To be honest, I didn't watch much of this game. I already had two shows recording (The Bachelorette and This Is Us). LOL Not that I would have been able to stay up for much of the game anyway.
  4. It's hard to win a game when you only score one run. IMO, it was a matter of time before the Dodgers put some runs on the board.
  5. The Sox gave Mookie a more than reasonable deal. I agree with you, he was after the most money, no matter what. Just to clarify, I'm not really rooting for the Rays. I have nothing against the Dodgers. However, one reason why I really don't want the Dodgers to win is because of the endless and nauseating stories about Mookie that we'd hear.
  6. As one of the writers mentioned, the question is, when did he have this thought? Was it shortly before he was traded or was it when he was a youngster just getting his big league start? Once he had a good bit of success, I don't think he necessarily believed this anymore. I'm not saying that he wanted out of Boston, but that he was going wherever the money was. If that meant leaving Boston, it was no big deal for him.
  7. Seriously Denny, you give Dombrowski way too much credit. Way, way, way too much credit.
  8. ^^This. The Red Sox did not mess Daniel Bard up. He messed himself up.
  9. It would be nice for the Dodgers to win for Vin Scully.
  10. Ha. Well played.
  11. I'm just hoping for some good baseball to continue for one more day before the long, cold winter sets in.
  12. Too late. I've already turned on Mookie.
  13. On paper, the Rays should have the advantage. I just don't have a lot of confidence in the Rays' hitting, while the Dodgers have been able to hit the Rays pitching pretty well. I'm not feeling it for the Rays. They might win Game 6, but there's no way they beat the Dodgers 2 in a row. I think the Dodgers take it in six.
  14. It's over.
  15. It's over.
  16. I, OTOH, give Dombrowski praise for not spending ridiculously on the pen in 2019. So there's something else he gets credit for.
  17. I will give him credit for signing Mitch Moreland. Plus credit for every move made in 2018.
  18. Oh definitely. I am already over all of the Mookie articles, tweets, and praise. I have nothing against the Dodgers, but not having to hear about Mookie all offseason would give me reason to pull against them.
  19. Three players are on my list of former Red Sox players that I could not root for when they left. Boggs, Damon, and now Mookie. Is it sour grapes on my part? Probably. That's what they get for breaking my heart after I've invested so much emotion into them.
  20. I think some of the criticism of Bloom supporters comes from that long list of marginal pitchers that you referred to, which contributed to our 60 game record. The problem with that criticism is that Bloom's hands were tied. He did not have any money to spend.
  21. It will be interesting to see what moves for pitching Bloom makes this offseason. I really don't expect him to sign Bauer or any other big free agent contracts, and I don't think he should. Despite the lack of any splashy moves, I am confident that we will have a very good team in 2021.
  22. Good deal. Playoff baseball should always regular season football.
  23. When the Sox are out of it, even though I typically have a team I'm pulling for, all I really want is to see some good, fun baseball. The playoffs, on the whole, have not disappointed this year.
  24. As I always say, one should never spend big money on a closer. You can get this production for much cheaper.
