    Except that there was no 'locker-room cancer'; this was a myth perpetuated by Breslow to make the 'deal' more palatable to fans, and as shown on this very board, it worked perfectly.

    I'm baffled about the support for Breslow, who has gotten rid of RS two best players with nothing in return. He HAS saved JH a boatload of money. but he is th most inarticulate pretentious fool I've heard in a long time and in professional sports, the competition is fierce. He cannot construct a coherent sentence and seems especially proud of tht fact. Even if he had people skills, which he does not, there is no way he could express them.

    Hey, no one is denying that getting rid of Devers was a great success! It saved ownership almost 300million!

    I'm guessing that players will be told, directly or indirectly, that they are NOT to show Devers any love tomorrow, in order to keep management's b.s. story alive that he is a bad team-mate.

    How are you disagreeing? This is exactly what I said: Devers is not a leader, tht's not who he is. We agree 100%. For 'traded away' I clearly meant 'got rid of.' The issue is not 'how' they got away, but that ownership let them get away by refusing to paying what apparently was market value for them.

    Exactly right. He was never 'a leader' and the RS traded away many who were: Betts, Bogaerts, Eovaldi ... the list goes on. The arg. that management expected him to fill this role is b.s. They already proved they don't give a rat's a*s about 'leadership'. All they do is find other euphemisms like 'alignment' for 'we want money in ownership pockets and we want employees to be absolutely subservient'.

    INSUBORDINATION! You got that right. Whether by an employee, a student, a lower ranking colleague, or worst of all, a child. It's just not acceptable in any walk of life, and needs to be corrected immediately. Like my imaginry kids for example: I just beat the crap out of them until they learn to keep their elbows off the table.

    Yes siree. Because businesses should be like the military!! And when you are told to do something by ANYONE higher in the organization than you, then you must DO it! Period. (Wasn't this argument used to great effect at Nuremberg?)

    Because trading away star players (Ruth, Betts) has always worked out so well. F*CK this team. I've followed this guy since he played AA in Portland. And I've been a fan of the RS since the early 50s. I hope the SOX lose every game for the rest of the season. I'm just glad for Rafy that he got away from this mess and its duplicitous administrative ways.
