  1. true enough, And I do that, generally to watch LAD, SD, or SF, where all my favorite players now play!
  2. Ha ha! Apparently, RS fans believe now (as they have historically) that if you bad-mouth a player or manager you have traded or effectively thrown out, then all the lame-ass things that management tells you will magically be true.
  3. One can like the trade or hate the trade or have other more nuanced reactions, but it is ludicrous to suggest that the RS are a better team w/o Devers than they were with him.
  4. Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier just to go watch minor league line-ups in Worcester or Portland?
  5. Damn, Mr. Max, you're like the Lion in Wiz of Oz holding his tail and repeating: "We don't need hitting; we don't we don't we don't ..."
  6. Then again, nor have there been any players come out and repeat the management/sportswriter myths that he was a bad team-mate.
  7. Thank goodness! We're saved! All thanks to his little league stats.
  8. I guess if anyone asked how the RS are doing, it could be answered by pointing out that avid Red Sox fans are arguing about the little league performance of a guy they just DFA'd.
  9. Who in their right mind is going to take on Buehler's salary? I mean, besides Breslow and Henry?
  10. OK I'll bite. What does 6/8 or 12/12 mean in this context? I have no clue.
  11. Except that there was no 'locker-room cancer'; this was a myth perpetuated by Breslow to make the 'deal' more palatable to fans, and as shown on this very board, it worked perfectly.
  12. Too bad you're not sharing in the 300million bonanza stuffed into the wallet of a guy you apparently like better.
  13. I'm baffled about the support for Breslow, who has gotten rid of RS two best players with nothing in return. He HAS saved JH a boatload of money. but he is th most inarticulate pretentious fool I've heard in a long time and in professional sports, the competition is fierce. He cannot construct a coherent sentence and seems especially proud of tht fact. Even if he had people skills, which he does not, there is no way he could express them.
  14. Hey, no one is denying that getting rid of Devers was a great success! It saved ownership almost 300million!
  15. Might want to get out your Allen and Grenough ...
  16. Waiting for the game, watching NYY and BAL. If you can, check the highlights--that play by Laureano was one of the best I've ever seen.
  17. I'm guessing that players will be told, directly or indirectly, that they are NOT to show Devers any love tomorrow, in order to keep management's b.s. story alive that he is a bad team-mate.
  18. Breslow talking??? Seriously? Have you read and tried to construe ANY of the incoherent statements he's made? He's the Yale version of Don King
  19. And Pedro Martinez is saying that all the stuff about Rafy being a bad team-mate is total b.s.
  20. Nice box! I think this is what the genius Breslow meant by having your pitching and hitting "in alignment."
  21. How are you disagreeing? This is exactly what I said: Devers is not a leader, tht's not who he is. We agree 100%. For 'traded away' I clearly meant 'got rid of.' The issue is not 'how' they got away, but that ownership let them get away by refusing to paying what apparently was market value for them.
  22. Exactly right. He was never 'a leader' and the RS traded away many who were: Betts, Bogaerts, Eovaldi ... the list goes on. The arg. that management expected him to fill this role is b.s. They already proved they don't give a rat's a*s about 'leadership'. All they do is find other euphemisms like 'alignment' for 'we want money in ownership pockets and we want employees to be absolutely subservient'.
  23. INSUBORDINATION! You got that right. Whether by an employee, a student, a lower ranking colleague, or worst of all, a child. It's just not acceptable in any walk of life, and needs to be corrected immediately. Like my imaginry kids for example: I just beat the crap out of them until they learn to keep their elbows off the table.
