    I wouldn't be giving Rafaela much more time....maybe a month max. He is basically JBJ light. He proved last year that he has no plate discipline. At the end of the day you still have to be able to hit the baseball, no matter how good your D is.

    It’s only early April but this team hasn’t shown me anything. You can’t win games when you can’t even make contact with the baseball. That has to improve.

    To state the obvious, its been only five games. No conclusions at all can be drawn yet. Even Devers, who missed most of ST, is going to come around. For the first time in many years I think this team has the potential to be worth watching. Not a WS contender, but better than the last several years. Its pretty amazing that articles are coming out asking what is wrong with Devers....after five games......

    The Red Sox AND the Patriots should be much better this year. The Sox have fortified their rotation and their offense. The only potential issue, besides health of course, is the bullpen. The Patriots have also done well and just signed Stefan Diggs, a premier wideout. Both teams are going to be worth watching again this year. Don't count the Yankees out. They are like friggin COCKROACHES. They get stepped on and more appear.

    He changed his mind, obviously, and for the better. He is a BAD defensive 3B and Bregman is a GG at the position. Its really a no brainer. Kudos to Devers for seeing that reality.

    Basketball players get 24 seconds in between every basket, as you probably know. Giving them 15 seconds would ruin the game. You don't even have to get it across half court until 10 seconds are up.

    He could be. Or 5% better . The point is those metrics aren’t THE absolute number. Best to look at them as an approximation.

    Maybe he thinks that baseball metrics are like algebraic formulas. I think that as long as they are within about 5%, maybe a little more, that has to be considered the reasonably accurate.

    I wouldn't presume to argue with you. That would be a waste of time, wouldn't it.

    He'd be more valuable if he could limit those HRs. As a back end SP he's OK. There are many SP on the roster this year who rank ahead of him, fortunately.

    Dude, give me a break. Those metrics are not spot on accurate. A 2% difference is insignificant.

    I don't see that changing much. "Little Raffy" is more accurately called "Little Bradley".

    You don’t have to humiliate someone to punish them. There have for example been a couple of times when my performance wasn’t as expected by my employer so they docked me some of my bonus. I have seen other employees be put on probation or be assigned less desirable job assignments. Ghis stuff happens all the time. A combination of the “ carrot and the stick” is probably the most effective way to modify behavior.
