  1. Lets see: Hector Velasquez v Mike Trout Hmmm.
  2. Porcello has outlived his usefullness. He should be DFA'd immediately. I don't care who replaces him.
  3. Throw strikes dammit!
  4. I don't think he cares. I wouldn't.
  5. What is Benintendi swinging at ??
  6. We should be beating the snot out of the Angels every game...except the game that Porcello starts.
  7. Like most of the fans, the players have finally smelled the roses and given up. I can't say that I blame them....but its time to sit some of these guys down and bring up some AAA players who, though not as talented, actually care about playing well.
  8. I think we reset the following year. This team greatly underperformed this year. I think there is something still left in the tank for 2020. After than.....not so much.
  9. Johnson is likely going to be our #6 or 7 SP next year. There aren't too many of those guys who are any good at all.
  10. That is how you usually die.....not all at once.....but piece by piece.
  11. I can wait for next year for them to turn it around. Just thinking practically: the more losses the higher the draft pick. In any event, I don't think they are going to willingly tank.
  12. Gotta admit that I would kinda prefer that the Sox tank at this point. If we aren't going to make the playoffs we might as well maximize our draft position.
  13. Just thinking a bit out of the box here....its possible that at this stage in his career Price would be better suited for the bullpen. He did well last year out of the pen in the playoffs. Can we convert D Hernandez into a starter? Would his stuff last for 6-7 innings?
  14. That was an error in judgement. The ONLY way we had a chance at the WC slot is if the guys on the current roster started doing their jobs. And given four months of performance data it was not a reasonable expectation at all. IMO they should have tried to unload some of our current players if they could get a decent return.
  15. I didn't expect that this year's team would win another ring, but I am pissed that they never even showed up this year. I expected a better effort.
  16. I am not going to miss any part of him. Every time I see him in CF all I can think about is that he is so incredibly pathetic with a bat in his hands.
  17. You know, I truly HATE the Yankee organization. If they went 0-162 it wouldn't be good enough. That said, none of their players are worthy of hate or disrespect. In fact, with the number of injuries they had this year I think that they have a tremendous season, one worthy of respect. They have stepped up and done the job this year and haven't used injuries as an excuse. Yes, our guys have given up and, in fact, they never really showed up this season-but you have to tip your cap the the Yankee team this year...and still hate them.
  18. It will be an interesting playoffs this year to be sure. Not as interesting as last year, but I will be right in there rooting for whoever is playing the Yankees. Its not going to be the Sox this year, obviously. The team and the fans have justifiably given up.
  19. As you know, in the playoffs some of their SPs become relievers as well. Thats what the Sox did last year and what every team does in the playoffs. They have enough strength in SP to carry them to a ring. Vegas I think lists them as co-favorites with the Astros right now.
  20. I think the Astros will knock off the Yankees, now that they have Greinke. They have a great team. And don't sell the Dodgers short; they could easily win it all.
  21. What series? The Sox season is over. The fans know it; the players know it. It really doesn't matter how we do against the Royals. Last year was our year.
  22. Ummm...the Dodgers have the third best bullpen ERA in the NL. They also have the best ERA for SP and overall ERA. They have a great team: great pitching and they have scored more runs and have a better OPS than any NL team. The Yankees will be playing a REAL team if they make it far enough to face them in the WS.
  23. They are hitting against a stiff. Means nothing that they are successful.
