    Absolutely a day to celebrate, though its a muted celebration because the FLOPS did another one and out this year. That is getting really old. Still.....my favorite team is the FLOPS; my second favorite team is whoever is playing the Yankmees.

    We aren’t winning a ring every year-or even every other year or every four years. But we should be in the conversation nearly every year. Lately it’s be not even close. poor management Cheapskate owner Over and over again

    LOL....we aren't getting any "big additions". Not in 27, not in 28, not as long as the cheapskate owner owns the floundering and poorly managed franchise. I read an article by one of the Flops beat writers who ended his missive by stating that "we deserve better". I agree. If Henry doesn't want to put the necessary talent on the field then he should sell the team-as some of the chanting demanded at Fenway this year. We will likely be WORSE next year, what with the lack of spending, the departure of Gray, and the likely regression of our best hitter. Something to look forward to.......🙄

    If history tells us anything Henry won’t spend the money for real talent over the winter. That’s his modus operandi. He’ll have BresLOW try to find a reclamation project and pass him off as gold

    Yes, in retrospect it was a very bad trade. But at the time Sale couldn’t stay on the field. Nobody knew he would have a resurgence like he had. You can’t judge a trade through a retrospectoscope

    I've been defending RA here, I admit it. If he sucks again next year that will stop. I still think he is too good to fail. His injury never healed this year and its tough to swing a bat with damage to the wrist and hand.

    They aren't getting a power bat. And Gray isn't coming back. He was not happy with being removed from the last game. Instead they will again search the bottom of the barrel for rehabbing SPs and make excuses as to why they didn't acquire talent offensively. And Henry will smile all the way to the bank.

    It was the albatross of the FLOPS hitting he bore all season.

    The FLOPS were 23rd in MLB in runs scored during the regular season. Good pitching can't hide that defect. Thing is, everyone knew over the winter that this team was offensively challenged. It was a common topic of discussion here-who good targets should be. Instead of addressing the problem completely BresLOW fixed the pitching while ignoring the hitting. Yes, he got Contreras who had an unexpected career year, but thats pretty much it. Durbin had a period of being competent. Who else of significance did he sign to fix the offense? IKF? Gasper? Really? BresLOW should have been fired but he wasn't because he kept such a close eye on Henry's wallet. Henry loved that.

    Exactly. I’ve been saying this all year. I don’t think the owners will spend much on talent and our GM isn’t smart enough to find good offensive talent in sufficient numbers. We will likely be even worse next year.

    The pitching was excellent all year compared to the other teams. Last I checked the Flops team ERA was 2nd in the AL and the pen was best in baseball. Those figures could be a bit different as I haven’t checked for a while. You can’t judge pitching in a vacuum. The glaring weakness was always hitting. Everyone knew about it over the winter. It wasn’t fixed.

    Contreras had a career year. No one can honestly say that they expected that. Durban had a good year but he was a rookie last year I believe so he was untested. Duran clearly regressed and the Flops did have a lot of injuries to key players who were expected to contribute. However-everyone knew that this team would need additional offensive help. It was a topic of discussion here

    Then the right thing to do is to DFA him and cut the losses in favor of building a competitive team. Everyone knew that this team needed more offense during the winter. Everyone. Yet we didn’t get it because the owners were too cheap to pay for talent and BresLOW was too stupid to stand uP to the owners and tell them he won’t work for cheapskate owners who claim that winning is a priority but refuse to pay for a competitive team. He should have walked out.

    I admit it. I hate this team. For too much of the year they have been unwatchable and full of bums. Screw Henry. Screw Kennedy. And screw BresLOW.

    The pitching has been excellent all year. This year is proof that pitching and defense only carries a team so far. You still need to be able to hit the baseball
