  1. So you know for a fact that neither of these guys are going to make it to the majors? Why on earth would you further weaken an already sucky farm system by throwing gasoline on a burning house? Its pretty clear that this team is going nowhere; they aren't going to turn it around. They are chasing too many decent teams. Once I have determined that I made a bad investment I NEVER invest more money in it. Like I said, it is what it is.
  2. Not an easy team to watch. Disgusting, actually.
  3. DD made a mistake by trading two of our prospects for this guy-or for any guy. This ship is sinking. No reason to invest more in it. It is what it is.
  4. This guy fits right in with the rest of the bums who start for us.
  5. The problem with the pen is two fold: the SP sucks and the pen sucks too. They are currently the ninth ranked pen in the AL and the SP is seventh in ERA. The problem with the pen is not the offense which is first in runs scored and third in OPS in the AL. Our pitching sucks, and as we all know, solid pitching is what wins rings.
  6. The Rays just took the lead against the Yankees and Chapman in the ninth.
  7. As bad as our pitchers are we are actually right in the middle of the pack in ERA and OPSa. Seems that bad pitching is endemic.
  8. Its pretty unbelievable how bad our pitching is....just horrible. No lead is safe.
  9. I think he might have an occasional good game. Same with Sale. But its almost August now...turning it around isn't going to happen.
  10. Not horrible. But bad enough. Four runs in five innings so far. Even four in six isn't good.
  11. Yes. Command=location. The ability to throw all of your pitches to the desired location. I don't think MLB has forced change on the game as much as the game evolving on its own. The commissioner didn't force "openers" on any team; he didn't force the shift on anyone nor did he change the emphasis on HRs and the tolerance of Ks more widely. Thats due to the stat guys.
  12. You don't have to throw hard to be successful...but it helps. Location is more important. By far.
  13. Get this guy off the mound or we will soon be behind.
  14. It was definitely the right thing to do. I really hate to agree with Alex Rodriguez, who was doing the game, but Cora screwed up. I take my chances with Bogaerts...or Betts...or Devers...with a guy on 3B with one out.
  15. Porcello is horrible. We will need about 10 runs to win this one.
  16. Then they have to face Bogaerts. It was definitely the right move.
  17. Bases juiced. I can't think of another guy I would rather have up right now than Benintendi.
