  1. And a Stephen King novel LOL
  2. Skepticism in Pivetta is certainly warranted. We got him for virtually nothing, so it would be a bonus if he contributes. He did pitch two decent games for us last year.
  3. One of the Killer B’s wanted too much honey.
  4. Whereas a typical male would blame his Grade 12 demise on girls and booze LOL
  5. Dalbec, Devers & Downs has a ring to it.
  6. First game of spring. No biggie.
  7. Verdugo is better than JBJ or Beni.
  8. It would increase our chances of making the playoffs. It might add 4-5 wins to our total. What else can be said?
  9. Rosenthal signed.
  10. Certainly they might be giving consideration to fast-tracking him.
  11. Should fix the stupid service time rules. Call it the Kevin Mather Amendment.
  12. a) Only one team can win it all. You also spend to entertain the fans a bit, no? They pay the bills, after all. Charlie Morton got $15 million, arguably an overpay by current standards. If we signed him and traded him at the deadline he would cost us about $10 million, putting us over the tax threshold. And what if he flops.
  13. DD certainly spent. The Sale and Bogey extensions, of course, were spending in the name of keeping star players around. Bloom has spent very lightly to date, that's for sure.
  14. OK. I'll match what you give.
  15. I'm thinking Durable Dick might settle for 2 million or so at this point.
  16. Gotta give Frazier props for the carrot-topped bat he's using in spring training.
  17. Or Durable Dick. I'd take any of them, but I don't think we're getting any of them.
  18. Bloom's hands were tied, agreed. DD didn't have a stellar 2018-2019 offseason, but I don't think that accounts for the 2019 tumble either. It was a whole package of bad things.
  19. And it's equally absurd to put all the blame on DD for 2019's plummet or on CB for 2020's plummet.
  20. That is kind of a dopey saying. What if what you always got was really good? In that case should you keep doing what you were always doing?
  21. Denny, we went from being the best team ever assembled in 2018 to 84-78 and third place in 2019, before hiring Bloom.
  22. Pablito was pretty much a one of a kind model, though, thank goodness.
  23. Yeah, German's head and Kluber's shoulder.
  24. When you're a Red Sox fan, you can't even get too attached to the head of baseball ops!
