  1. Posted on a Yankee fan game thread: "Taillon giving me a Sonny Gray vibe. Not good."
  2. Could Arroyo be a real second baseman? He was Pedey-esque today.
  3. Also, Arroyo had a heck of a game.
  4. Those two doubles by Dalbec were beautiful. The kid can really hit to the opposite field.
  5. Maybe they should have stuck with having a dome...
  6. He said Yankee fans are obnoxious winners.
  7. We're mostly oldsters here.
  8. I find that I post less in general when the Sox are going well. It's like you just to want to ride the wave while it lasts and not even talk about it.
  9. If you're thinking Taylor and Richards, it should be Mick Taylor.
  10. But that would make them snowflakes.
  11. 1 average inning = 15-18 pitches. Most relievers can pitch 1 inning 2 or 3 days in a row. Pitching 2 innings requires at least one day off afterward. I think the way it's down now is pretty scientific and planned out over the whole season for a limit of X number of innings.
  12. But this way Valdez got in some real games. Maybe that's what they wanted.
  13. It's such a long season. I've been taking my shots at the Yankees while I've had the chance, but I also realize they could get hot all of a sudden.
  14. Well, maybe they also hoped to get a look at both Brice and Valdez in real MLB games to see where they're at. I'm sure they took a lot more into consideration than we do.
  15. What's the big deal though? I think our starters have probably done a better job than expected getting through 5 innings or more.
  16. What's really shocking is the Yankees team OPS of .682 through 8 games, highlighted by a feeble SLG of .366. Supposedly the baseballs are deader this year, and that's not great for a team whose offense is built on the long ball. (I'm heaping it on, I know. )
  17. To be precise, the Yankees have one World Series appearance in the last 17 seasons (2004-2020) under Cash's guidance.
  18. That's great. I love it.
  19. Yankee fans are very down on Cashman these days. They think his team construction strategy has been atrocious. As in, the all or nothing offensive approach. The bad defense. And fail moves like Bruce.
  20. Final Rays 4 Yankees 0 Springs and Mazza combined for 3 of the shutout innings.
  21. I'm rooting for Jeffrey Springs right now LOL
  22. There are a couple of reasons people don't hope for ex-Red Sox players to do well: 1) It tends to reinforce the idea that we made the right move letting them go. 2) (Which is basically the flip side of 1) They don't like getting their noses rubbed in it that we were wrong to let them go.
  23. "Couldn't afford him" will always be a questionable concept IMO
  24. That's the spirit!
  25. San Diego was the other team that was rumored to be talking to the Sox about Betts.
