  1. One thing is for sure - the Yankees face a nice test to start the season with the Jays. I know it doesn't mean much, but the Jays were 16-9 in spring games and the Yanks were 14-12, and stumbled noticeably the last week or so, with nobody hitting. Bring it on.
  2. Just read that Houck is working on a splitter and threw some today.
  3. This is a pretty good day so far.
  4. Yes, it seems simple enough.
  5. 2019-2020 fWAR 3.5 - in approx. 1.4 seasons
  6. I don't know about Rays fans, but I can imagine how Red Sox fans would feel if it was us.
  7. Good news about Cordero and Barnes.
  8. Who has had bigger issues in big spots than Chapman? 3 monster postseason home runs in 5 years. Something no one else in history has done, I don't think. The Cubs overcame one of them. The Yankees could not. What do you tell yourself about that?
  9. Sanchez is back to being terrible at the plate. 4 for his last 30 with 15 K's.
  10. And Kluber labors badly in his final tune-up. Can't finish the third inning.
  11. He had one bad game, basically. But since he's on our team now, you're gonna go with that and throw out the rest of his career.
  12. The Jays finished 1 back of the Yanks last year and added Springer and Semien. Yeah, decidedly worse!
  13. Both of who hit below .200 last year. Yet you speak of them with enthusiasm. Kind of typical of the rose glasses thing.
  14. jax has a pair of glasses with rose-colored pinstripes he wears when he looks at them.
  15. However, if someone wanted to go through your team one player at a team, they could find something negative about all of them except Cole and perhaps LeMahieu. And you've already got some injury losses with Britton and Voit and possibly Wilson. Kluber and Taillon are keys, and I believe they are on innings limits. And obviously there are injury concerns there. Garcia flamed out in his latter spring games and was demoted. Sevy? Who knows when or how good he'll be.
  16. You are really coming at us with a vengeance this year. It's almost enough to make me wish for the Yankees to have unexpected difficulties and for the Jays to take the division...
  17. E-Rod threw 36 pitches in the bullpen yesterday and said he felt good.
  18. moon doesn't like his conventional numbers for the last two seasons. Apparently he's got lots of company.
  19. We lost Beni, a .273 hitter, and JBJ, a .239 hitter, and we gained Verdugo, a .290 hitter. So how can it be zero pieces? A little negativity is understandable, but let's try to at least be a little reasonable...
  20. E-Rod's dead arm and Barnes testing positive for COVID have knocked some of the optimism out of me, I must say. When you have as little depth as we do, every loss is magnified.
  21. They're going cheap in some areas this year, no argument there. One thing that's slightly puzzling is why they haven't entertained the idea of Kike in center. As moon has pointed out, his defensive numbers there are very good.
  22. JBJ and Beni had holes in their games in 2019.
  23. Starting to look like your idea of putting Kike in CF makes more sense than anything.
  24. Afraid I may have jinxed him a bit.
